My wife bought one of these from an online shopping channel, has worked ok for 3 years but today she went to use it and its stone dead, no power either to steam generator or iron. Fuse was not blown in plug so I took a look inside, powere was reaching what looked some kind of relay or cut out switch attached to boiler. As this looks a bespoke part & probably not available for self fix it looks terminal. I would assume from what others have written a factory repair would cost more that its worth. I would not recomend this product, much better to buy a cheap standard steam iron.

Luckily i didnt have to pay for it to get it fixed they just sent me a new one out with days but the same thing keeps happening to them all. I bought my Polti 4500R iron in May 2008, when it works it is great
but it has now broken twice in this time and last time it broke it took four weeks to get it back. This weekend it has broken again and they want £93 to repair it. I will not be buying another Polti product ever again.I tried to speak to Polti today but it is impossible to contact them.

After sales services diaboligal. Rang some man, because I use it for dressmaking, he didn't want to know me. This iron is superb for my needs when its working. Nobody in n.ireland does repairs. The steam has stopped working.

I thought my Vaporella Polti iron was the bees knees when I got it first. It was simply THE best iron I had ever used in the 30 years Ive been ironing. All true until a year ago (4 years after purchase) when the cabling coming out of the iron and the iron handle started to get very hot. Now I burn myself when Im holding the iron, and I fear its getting so hot I will get an electric melt down, short circuit, or something. Ive even stopped teaching my 12 year old to iron for fear of harm to him.
After sales support is nonexistent at Polti. Im so miffed now Im looking to 'recycle' the equipment but am finding it hard to - what seems like - throw money down the drain.
Shame shame shame on you Polti.

My wife was very pleased with the system because she found it easy to use and efficient. That was until it stopped generating steam, after approx 2 years. After sales service from Polti is virtually non-existant. Even 'phoning them is difficult, since they do not answer - instead you leave a message and wait for a call back.... and wait .....and wait. Still waiting in fact. The service agents listed on the website do not want to even see the appliance, let alone repair it. All this for the bargain price of £299!
Such a pity really, as my wife says that it is the best iron she has ever used in 40 years. DON'T BUY POLTI !!!
Wanted to give 0 out of 5 for support, but had to give 1 star to avoid error message.

As with the previous review, my Polti Vaporella has just stopped generating steam. I haven't had it as long as two years and I doubt that my husband could manage a repair! So I guess I'm back to the old fashioned way.

This product combines a steam generator iron and a fan ventilated board. At around £360 it is not a particularly cheap ironing system however It does, at first, seem to offer good value and works well enough. The down side is its very shoddy construction and the almost complete absence of an after sales service network. I have had the appliance for just over two years and in that time, the first thing to fail was the electrical switch on the boiler unit. We could not find a service agent who could repair the unit or get spare parts so my husband who is an electrical engineer took it apart himself and managed to fit a replacement switch. The switch that he removed was a very cheap palstic type which had melted.
The repair worked and gave me back the use of the appliance for a time, however it was only a few months later when the steam generator failed again, this time due to a faulty valve.
This time my husband cannot get the parts to fix it and, as before, no one else is interested.
If you are considering purchasing one of these units my advice to you would be - don't do it!. In a very short space of time you are likely to be left with nothing more than a very expensive ironing board.
I would advise that you consider buying instead a good quality board and a separate steam generator from a well known make with a service network.
I would not consider buying any further goods made by Polti.
