    I placed an ordered at the Tottenham Court Road store mid-September. As with other people's experiences I found the sales staff extremely (Michelle in particular) friendly and they seemd to be falling over backwards to get us to put down a deposit now and then come back with firm measurements, etc. a few days later.

    I had a feeling something wasn't quite right at the time but didn't listen to the voice inside (bad move!). On getting home I noticed additional details around the payment profile had been added to the order form after I'd signed it (during the time they took the paperwork away to process the £100 deposit). Suddenly I'd gone from paying £100 deposit to having "signed up" to a further 2 x £450 downpayments I hadn't agreed to - and which have subsequently been deducted from my card.

    I went onto the Companies House Website where I discovered there had been a few name changes and whatnot and the latest company (Designer Living UK Limited) had not posted any accounts for the last year or two. The penny dropped and I think I knew then I'd made a mistake.

    The promised fabric swatches arrived and I went into the store to confirm the colour and also the layout. I dealt with another lady (Jenny). I still had queries about the measurements and she took some details saying she'd find out the answer and get back to me. I heard nothing back so a week later my partner got on the phone to them and experienced the awful phone service. He eventually got through to the store and asked to speak to Michelle or Jenny but told they were at trade shows and weren't available. We both decided to go into the store that afternoon and, surprise surprise, Michelle was sitting there right in front of us. However her super friendly sales face had turned into a miserable unhelpful one and we instead dealt with a guy called Elliott. He was quite helpful in terms of taking time to understand the problem and agree what arrangements could be made in terms of size, colour, etc. He updated and initialled our order paperwork and took additional details which he said he'd forward on to the head office. About a week later I emailed a scanned copy of this to Designer Interiors to check whether they had received the changes but I heard nothing back. I called up their freephone number a few days later and was promised a return call and again heard nothing. It now looks like I will need to go into the store AGAIN to try and sort this out. I have a feeling this is only the begining and as with everyone else I would say DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE.

    I wish we had seen these reviews 3 weeks ago, before we went to Grand Designs Live 2009! Myself and my partner were there looking for various things including new sofas and spotted this company's stand. We must have missed the lady from one of the other reviews on here who was trying to stop people visiting this stand! On finding some sofas we quite liked we started finding out more information.     My wife and I come across Designer Living at the Ideal Home Exhibition 2008. Oh my God, what a mistake that was!!! They come across very professional on the stand and we were sucked in. We paid £1500 deposit and waited for our order patiently. To cut a very long story short they took too much money off my credit card on final payment by £1000 which took a year to return.     The customer is really papmered at time of ordering but then altogether forgotten.Balance payment (substential) of my order was taken without prior advice.Phoning the company to get advice of delivery etc is a nightmare and I did worry for many weeks prior to delivery that I had been stung. Finally furniture did arrive . Looks good originally but within a few weeks the leather seats are "bubbling" leather has stretched.     REVIEW OF DESIGNER LIVING WWW.DESIGNERLIVING.EU We attended Grand Designs last year (2008) in Birmingham NEC. We chose the suite we wanted and were told that interest free credit was available, we were told the suite would be with us before Christmas. We also ordered a footstool.     We have had delivered a lovely Italian corner unit which I must say is really beautiful. We were a little nervous when ordering the furniture because it was the first time that we had ordered an expensive leather sofa but the really helpful sales lady assured us that it would look and fit perfectly after we gave her the sizes of our lounge.The lady in the delivery department and the delivery guys were excellent and really helpful. We would happily recommend the product and Designer Living.

    I agree. Sofas were of good quality, although a bit expensive. I found the customer services to be poor. I wanted 18 months interest free credit and was told that they would sort this out before we took delivery of the sofa. Lo and behold the remaining balance was entirely withdrawn from my account without any warning. It took 6 weeks to get the money returned and the interest free credit arranged.     I am taking this oppurtunity to say how delighted I am with the quality of furniture and the service that I received from Designer Living. I bought two leather sofas and two chairs to match which I believe were all made in Italy. The furniture is really comfortable and the leather used is gorgeous. I would happily recommend this Company as not only is the product very nice but all the staff from the start to finish were really helpful and knowledgeable.

    My experiences are almost identical to others describing their experiences with Designer Living. I deeply regret having encountered this company and placing an order at the Ideal Home exhibition last year (2008). The two sofas I ordered were delivered just within the maximum weeks quoted. However, on close inspection the workmanship was appalling.     I wish to god I had never met up this company at the Ideal homes exhibition. I feel like I have lived through a nightmare. They havent answered their phones when I have called, I left message after message even though they claimed on there answerphone their offices to be open.     The two electric reclining sofas that we ordered from Designer Living did not match! At times it was near enough impossible to contact the company by telephone and we even thought that they had gone out of business for a while.     I ordered some leather sofas from Designer Living at the Grand Design Exhibition at Excel. I was not really looking for furniture but was so impressed with the quality and range of the goods on display that I decided to replace my rather tired ones at home.     Ordered goods from Designer Living at the Ideal Home Show in March. Had only rough room measurements, but agreed to give a deposit on the understanding that if the sofa did not fit we would cancel the order. Also arranged 2 years interest free credit.     I am very satisfied customer of Designer Living and have them recommended them to all my friends and family.
    We found the sofas with co-ordinating curtains on display at the Ideal Home Exhibition and were very impressed with the product knowledge held by the salesman. We have just had the sofas and curtains delivered and our lounge looks simply amazing, so much so that we will be getting curtains for the rest of the house.

    I bought a fantastic corner sofa from Designer Living at the Ideal Home Show. They had a big selection to choose from but I had no idea what would suit the room so when I showed the helpful sales assistant a plan of the room she suggested a cute corner unit. They delivered it earlier than expected and it fits and looks great in my lounge. Great value for money and great service. I would definitely recommend Designer Living.

    Designer Living have delivered my sofa and chairs that I ordered. The quality is excellent and all I could hope for. Their advice with regard to colour and size given by their staff, was perfect. In fact, they offered to visit my home to check sizes and show me swatches of fabrics, but I managed to sellect my preference from samples they sent me quickly in the post. Delivery was on time, the goods unwrapped carefully and positioned exactly where I wanted.

    Designer Living took our money in sept 07, and it has taken us till March 2008 to even agree what it is we wish to buy whilst they have tried to give us something we don't want - plus their products aren't cheap either so you are going to ensure you get what you want. We felt the designer pushed us into buying what they feel you should have. I found them unprofessional and also unable to deliver to their promises or timescales.     My advise to anyone visiting the BBC Gardeners World show at the NEC is to stick to buying the lovely plants etc there and don't touch the Designer Living stand that sells very expensive sofas. We experienced no after sales care whatsoever and we didn't feel a "valued client". Our sofa took 5 months to arrive, in the event that they did answer their phone (we thought at one stage they may have ceased trading as no one replied to 3 messages for over a week).
