    Good Points: Nothing - awesome!!!!!

Bad Points: Website needs to promote and market the hotel and Village better as the accommodation is far better than given the impression on the website. Better photos and information to describe the positive aspects such as the views from the rooms.

General comments: Stayed at the Village Portmeirion and enjoyed my staff immensely. The accommodation I stayed in was absolutely brilliant, it was the Dolphin Suite. It had a separate sitting area and double doors from the bedroom and sitting room to the balcony. It had views of the estuary, a lovely balcony and was in the village square. Whilst we we stayed at the village there was a Prisoner convention on which added to the stay and made it even more memorable. The staff from arrival to departure were brilliant, very helpful, enthusiastic and professional. One member of staff on the hotel reception showed the most amazing patience with a very demanding customer, he deserved a medal for his attitude and professionalism. I would recommend that you stay in the village as it is a truly magical place, even if you do not remember the tv series the prisoner I am sure you will be enchanted by the Village. You can also stay in the hotel, self catering cottages and at the castle just a short walk away. All I am sure would be of the same standard. We ate in the hotel, set menu, the food was excellent, the service first class and the d cor very contemporary, quite different to the front of the hotel which is more traditional and quirky. We managed to get a really good deal as we travelled in March, but I would say it is well worth paying the full price. The village itself is a truly great place to visit and the thought that went into its design very interesting and an inspiration for modern day designers. The weather was wonderful whist we were there Mar 09, which helped, but even with poor weather I am sure the experience would be as enchanting.
