Good Points: The river is set in beautiful land and has some very beautiful fish. I have fished the annan on several occassions. My favourite part is that the trout rose to dry flies and took nymphs with such explosive takes. They ran me ragged and i lost about 8 or 9 fish inside 4 hours. The grayling were spawning when i went to the river so i left them to their business.

Bad Points: I couldn't really fault annandale estates. The only thing is that the beat is rather short and is fished out within about 3 hours and if your like me and could walk for miles while fishing and not stop because of an invisible line. I fly fish and find that you need to continiously walk to get the best out of the fishing without stopping and turning back. Other than that i couldn't fault it.

General comments: I enjoyed my time on the river and think that it is an underated river in Scotland. It's also available for a very small cost. As little as £8 for a day ticket for trout and about 10 to 40 pounds for salmon. Its great fishing for great value for money an i would highly reccomend it.
