Bad Points: Very flimsy build. Verging on the cheap and nasty. The flex and the adapter units are made of very thin metal and can't withstand normal use. I took mine back to Maplins for a replacement after the flex snapped and was given another.. this lasted a week (office use) before the mutipin connector broke again. I then dismantled the unit and looked inside. Horrible build quality in my opinion. The unit is supposed to put out 6amps max which is a fair amount of current. The cables and construction inside are made of very thin bell wire which I doubt is rated for 1amp. There is also no short circuit protection: If you accidentally short the pins together on the flexible laptop plugs (perfectly easy to do as some plugs have only a 1mm separation between the pins) then you will blow the entire transformer unit. Expensive at £50 for the unit.
General comments: Very powerful and comes with a whole variety of adapters to fit most laptop brands and most mobile phones. Also has a USB power takeoff at 5v on the side.
Unit is switchable from 15v to 20v in 1v steps. It works fine but the internal fan is very noisy.
It won't power the latest generations of Dell laptops as the power unit and laptop are chipped to force you to replace with a similar unit..
It works fine but see below.
Build quality isn't worth $5 in my personal opinion! Don't buy one it won't last a month.
I do not recommend this. Doesn't work and I don't trust the insulation and would rather not experience 20v at 6amps across my fingers!
