So this is my second bad experience at an Evans halshaw branch this time I bought this 2014 BMW for just under £16000 and this is how the car has come to me and I'm absolutely disgusted I was told the scratches on the paintwork would be machine polished out the car would be valeted and the plastic air filter cover would be looked at to see why it was rattling none of this was done the rear tyres are an advisory on the mot so I had them checked and they're 3.6mm and 3.4mm so it will need tyres in the near future it only had one key and according to the service history on the idrive the last time it was serviced was at 23000 miles it's now on 42000 this company is a disgrace I never received any updates after I was accepted for the finance I had to do all the chasing to get updates on what was happening again it's just one of these big companies only interested in the sales and not the customer service very disappointed please avoid I also find it really desperate that they have to get their staff to put false reviews on google to try to get rid of the bad reviews showing up

If you are thinking of visiting this dealership then don't bother! I have been there several times now and the staff are so ignorant, I work in retail myself dealing with customers and manners cost nothing. I cannot comment on the quality of sales because I have never got that far into a transaction. Not met one nice employee at this site. What a complete waste of time they are and every car I have enquired about was sold days/weeks before. "the website hasn't been updated" even though there is a designated person to do that particular roll. Please think think twice before going to spend your money here.

I attended here with my partner after booking a test drive with a vehicle we were interested in online. On arrival we were ignored for a good 15 minutes by the salesmen, of whom there was plenty chatting to eachother or sat at desks on their phones. Finally somebody came to speak to us, to tell us that the car we booked a test drive with was not actually on site despite us having liased with an employee to book it for this particular day and time. We then proceeded to ask about other cars they may have on offer in a similar price bracket, the salesman seemed slightly disinterested and the whole exchange was rushed. We went next door an purchased a vehicle from the car supermarket instead and was happy with the service.

Casual and indifferent atttitude of salesman who had little knowledge of the products sold but were only interestedd in paying the funds to Evans Falshaw.not even willing to help provision of petrol to a sold car which had to be driven some

I recently purchased a 2nd hand Peugeot 208 from Evans halshaw. When I was looking to buy the car I noticed a few scratches and a patch of bad paintwork, I was told that this would be sorted by the time I would collect the vehicle. As I went to pick the vehicle up, none of these things were done. As I was needing the car for work the next day I had to take the car anyway. I got the car from the Preston branch but I live closer to chester so I've spend the last few weeks trying to get someone to sort this out, I'm being passed from one person to the next and I'm getting nowhere. Similarly to the other reviews on here the after care customer service I have experienced from Evans halshaw is terrible, once you've signed the piece of paper confirming your purchase they no longer want to help you any further. The impression I get from Evans halshaw is if there are any issues then they ignore them in the hopes that the customer will not pursue anything.

I've been waiting for a part for a used car I bought in November, the part is available on ebay, and Evans Halshaw are holding out waiting for me to go away..... They have offered an inferior alternative, The cost is low, so to them the financial cost is more important than customer satisfaction........ WE are only talking about a £200 differential....between what is right and what they want to offer..... That's your value after the car has been bought. They don't negotiate on the sale price, but make you hold out to accept any offer they make to rectify problems....... Double standards in their favour......... I have more and will continue to write reviews until I get " Fair" satisfaction.

i bought a car from here 6 weeks ago & was impressed with the sales service - no pushy or overbearing salesmen, fair prices which were non-negotiable which I liked as its easier for everyone. Unfortunately they let themselves down with the after sales service, I had some issues with parts I was waiting on after buying the car (items which should have come with the car in the first place) but it was like as soon as they had my money they were impossible to get hold of, I had left numerous phone messages and been passed around to different people, when put through to the showroom the phone rang out with no answer, I even went in to the showroom twice and watched as the salesman I was waiting to speak to actually hid across the room as his colleague 'phoned him' to pass on my concerns to him saying he wasn't available. Wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend, which is a shame as the sales service was good simple and easy going

I went here today for a car health check which was supposed to take 1hr but they had me down for leaving the car with them for 4.5 hours. After arguing my case about this I was told the car would be ready at 9.30. 9.30 came and went and I was left waiting with my 18 month old child. When I queried the wait the man was rude and said it would be another ten minutes or so. After a further 20 minutes the car was ready by this time my daughter was having a melt down after not having any food or her morning nap. I was not told where the car was parked so spent 5 minutes trying to find the car in the rain with my toddler. I asked a member of staff where it would be and he said somewhere in the car park- very helpful. Overall an awful experience

My husband and I visited evans halshaw today after seeing a couple of cars we were interested in on the web site. We looked at one in particular, we're interested and asked if we could have a test drive. The reply was do you really want to buy this car? Since when are you supposed to commit to buying before a test drive. Diabolical manners and after reading other people reviews it is not just us, at least he did us a savour, as a least we did'nt have any further dealing with them. Ps. Went to Mitchell Skoda in Cheshire Oaks, very helpful salesman good range of cars will defiantly return to this dealer

I took my car to Evans Halshaw in Chester after one of my injectors failed. They fitted a new one, then a second one failed. I paid £571 for two new injectors + fitting. The car broke down less than a mile from the garage. They recovered me, put me in a courtesy car free of charge due to the faulty repair. I stayed in their car from 4 and a half months! Eventually they took the car to a Renault main dealer who told them the fuel pump was failing causing damage to the injectors. The fuel pump needed to be replaced, fuel tank and fuel lines removed and cleaned (However, Evans Halshaw didnt tell me this, they told me the engine needed to come out and would cost over £1500. I had to call Renault myself to find this out...beware they lie!) Evans Halshaw told me they didnt believe Renault and wanted to send the car to a diesel specialist for a second opinion. Evans Halshaw decided it would be a great idea to actually my drive the car 10 miles, even though Renault told them the fuel system was contaminated. Not only that, but Evans Halshaw themselves told me the car was in a mon drivable condition. It was only the courtesy car collection driver who dropped them in it, when he admited he was the one who drove my car, and it broke down en-route to the deisel specialist. Now evans Halshaw want rid of me. They have damagaed the 2 brand new injectors I paid for (£571). However, they have very kindly offered to have them reconditioned at their own cost...how nice of them considering they broke the bloody things! Also, they have damaged the other 2 injectors, and are refusing to accpet liability for this damage. This means I could be faced with another £571 for 2 injectors) The only saving grace is that Renault have offered me discount on the pump and tank clean, making they repair viable. Now that Evans Halshaw have damamged my other 2 injectors I cant afford the repair job Please please please, stay away from this company, they are terrible. Do your own research. Search google for "Evans Halshaw Chester complaints" Their are posts on Moneysaving expert as well as this site. This all started over 6 months ago. I have had to buy a new car to get to work and I am still facing a bill of £1200. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!! Stay away!!!!!!!

Bought a s-max from here over 12 months ago and it has now been back in at least 6 Times for the same fault, still not fixed it!! Keep telling me it's sorted but a few days after having the vehicle back its showing the same fault again. If this was a warranty on any other product eg:washing machine they have to give you a new one if they can't fix fault in three attempts! No such luck here! Each time I complain I'm made to feel stupid, getting really fed up now as it costs approx 15 pounds in fuel each time I take it back!

Beware when you take your car there. Customer service is disgusting, no one actually cares that people have taken time out of their day to attend this garage. You get spoken to like your a halfwit, appointments are haphazard If you can manage it take your car to Liverpool of Wrexham dealers. At least there your car will get done on time

I purchased a used Ford KA, and was issued with a single key on collection of the vehicle. I was informed the 2nd key was still with the previous owner and would be forwarded on to me. I have been promised the 2nd key for 3 months now, and numerous emails are now being ignored. I am still waiting for this key. They will not give out the email of senior sales staff. One salesman told me if i had to order a new key myself it would be in the region of £200. Draw your own conclusions.

I visited Evans Halshaw Chester a couple of weeks ago, the minute i arrived i was totally ignored, i approached a salesman who said he was already with someone and would be with me shortly, having browsed round the show room i noticed he was sat at a desk and no contact with any other persons was made!
I then approached him ten minutes later and asked would it be possible to arrange a test drive, he said there was not enough staff available for him to leave the premises, i asked could i make an appointment and he seemed very un-interested. I therefore left and decided to try again a few days later as i was keen to purchase the new fiesta for my daughter.
I returned the following week and again was made to feel like a nuisance, i indicated i was looking to buy the new fiesta and would be happy to take a stock car as it was needed quite quickly. I found the vehicle i wanted to purchase and asked could it be possible to have the car within the next few days as it would be a cash purchase so no finance etc, i was told that they needed at least 5 days notice as the admin department would not tax the car at short notice! I thought the salesman was joking and he said no, that they wouldn't do it at short notice.
Surely given the current climate any sales would be welcomed!
I have since purchased a different vehicle from a different dealer, who were extremely helpful and i had the car within 48 hours of going to them.
I would not recommend Evans Halshaw, very disappointed.

Having today visited Evans Halshaw in Chester, I must say a big thank you to the salesman. They made the whole process of choosing, test driving and purchasing a second hand car a really pleasurable experience. From the moment we arrived, there was absolutely the right amount of help and advice. No 'pushy' hard sell, just honest and frank answers.
Nothing else really, their comprehensive information on the web site gave enough pre-visit info. So lads, thanks again, you were really brilliant.
Also, completely put me at my ease on the test drive, as I was nervous about driving in City traffic.

had to chase evans halshaw, chester every step of the way to buy a new car. I thought dealers were desperate to sell in this climate?
still waiting for accessories promised when the car was ordered a month later and having to do my own research for them as the staff are no longer bothered now they have the money. Also waiting for owners handbook which was not with the car when purchased??
So it's the usual 'salesman promises everything but ignores you after' scenario.
