Good Points: Excellent value for money Lots of choice Hassle free service
Bad Points: Imported cars - but I knew that
General comments: After reading negative reviews about Motorpoint, I wanted to write about my experience as it was very different. I bought a Clio 172 Sport from them in Mar 2004 and had no problems at all and experienced none of the issues mentioned in other reviews. My car was brand new with only 8 miles on it and in perfect condition inside and out.
I had been told before I bought it that it was a pre-registered "grey" import but the Puma I part exchanged with them was as well and they gave me an excellent price for that. I got a year's warranty from Motorpoint and in the 2.5 years that I owned the car I loved it and had no trouble with it in any way.(I have only just gotten rid of it 1 week ago)
There was no hard sell and in fact I wasn't even offered any sort of finance or extras apart from an upgraded alarm/immobiliser system which I thought was excellent value for money at 199. On the day that I collected the car, I was most impressed with the organised and efficient service and the lady I dealt with made sure I was fully familiar with all the car`s workings etc before I left.
I have recommended Motorpoint to several friends over the last couple of years and 2 of them have made purchases from them with no trouble at all. I would happily have bought my new car from them but Direct Cars of Sheffield beat them on the price + spec, which was the only reason why I went there instead. Unless they have changed substantially in the last 2 years, I would not hesitate to recommend them.
