Good Points: Price price price ... they are much cheaper than the dealers.

Bad Points: It's a bit of a hassle to test drive, and you've got to go to Derby (or wherever) so it's not in your town like a dealer.

General comments: You've got to do your homework. Look. they sell imported cars at prices much cheaper than the main dealers. If you can be bothered to check that out you'd realise that these are bargains. The warranties on all new cars are pan european, yes the start date is triggered when the car is bought new which might be several months before it's sold at MP but it's still valid and you can top up the warranty and still save a packet. I've had three from Motorpoint Derby (good ones as well) and paid decent money but saved £ £ £ vs what the rip off "premium marque" dealers wanted...don't forget these are the guys who want to charge you £150 per hour for labour when it's serviced !!

Saw the car detailed on the internet with a full description but no photo. I called Motorpoint Derby branch who said the car was on site. Off I went from Sheffield to Derby only to find the vehicle was actually in transit and would be here in the next few days. I was given a different vehicle to look at same model and trim but a different engine size. " Dont worry sire the vehicle you are sat in is the same spec and condition as the vehicle you are interested in. With that assurance I place a ...

As a family we have had 3 cars from Motorpoint in Derby over the years. Only issues we have had is when we have not asked enough ourselves e.g. has it been pre-registered in another country which reduces the warrently left. Has it been in an accident etc.

Using the new system that allows you to purchase a car from Motorpoint using Tesco Clubcard points,
Have been saving for 6 months (Specifically shopping for items with bonus points), with a spend of £1500 on these items we managed to accumuate £2000 in Tesco Clubcard Vouchers, These are worth £8000 in Value at Motorpoint.
Purchased a 6 Month Old Fiesta Diesel from them for £8000
Salesman said Tesco only give them 2* the value back so they got back £4000 from Tesco, ...

We saw a car on the internet which was approximately £300 cheaper than dealer price. We booked a 2 day break in a hotel as we had to travel 140 miles to see the car. After seeing the car we decided to purchase the car, however the car had an offensive smell inside but the salesman assured us this could be dealt with before we collected it.
On collection day the smell inside was still as bad and we were told that there was only one key available as the other one had not been sent from where ...

When you pick your new car up, be suspicious if it is not on front when you turn up, If they say "We will bring it around as it just being washed, Its probably to hide a scratch. Carefully inspect car before signing
The above apart, I would still recommend them.

So if you are thinking about buying a car from Motorpoint, don't without thinking about what if all is not well with the car they sell you (you will be stuck with the problem and the bill yourself).
Watch so-called warranties, used cars are sold as seen and may have no warranty at all.
Regardless of age, if the car as not been maintained or repaired by the manufacturers then the warranty could be void. Some New cars sold by Motorpoint are imported and may not have the same warranty as a UK car ( ...

Quick and smooth sale. No problems in terms of pricing of car. Helpful service. Motorpoint Derby is where I picked up the car from and everything was OK. Excellent price for the car.

Just collected a brand new Renault Megane from Motorpoint Derby. Absolute bargain price and drives beautifully. The customer service on the phone and on site was very good - informative (from the start I was informed that the car was an import from Cyprus (but thank God, English manuals!)), patient (they waited for me to sort out a problem that arose with the insurance) and not too pushy.
I decided not to take any of the finance, top-up insurance or extras they offered, and they did not try to h ...

Originally I thought I had a good deal at Motorpoint. However, when I examined the vehicles service book, I noticed that the supplying VW dealer was based in Malta. Therefore I had bought an imported car and no one had informed me of this fact. In conclusion this was the worst car buying experience of my life. So, if you want to save a few pounds, Motorpoint is the place, just make sure that you're not buying an imported vehicle, since it's worth less and they only carry a two year warranty. ...

Having left Chester at 6.00 am to be in Derby for 9.00 am using the train, I can positively say the rail companies out shine Motorpoint.

First I was directed to the coffee area to wait, the area was locked up. I went to find the car to check it over, the car had been washed with little attention to detail, dried bird muck still on car. The inside had not been given any attention and the front right fog light was smashed.

The fact that the salesman had made a point of how the car would be check ...

I went to Motor Point after checking out target prices in What Car? magazine and then approaching a main dealer. Unfortunately the main dealer couldn't match my price so I decided to look elsewhere. After doing a bit of internet research I found several car supermarket' sites and compared prices on the model that I was interested in - a VW Golf 2.0 GT TDI 5dr. I later rang Motorpoint's customer call centre and it turned out that I would save over 2k on the price that I was quoted at the de ...
