Good Points: May get a car cheaper than a main dealer. You may end up 'paying through the nose' later though.
Bad Points: Sloppy.
General comments: My father purchased a Mercedes A Class A140 3 years ago from Motorpoint. The car was advertised on the website as brand new and he duly purchased the car making a fairly substantial saving. The car was collected from Motorpoint in perfect condition. Unfortunately approx 3 months later the car kept loosing power (about 90%) in a variety of situations and of course completely unexpected and in any gear! We also noticed on the log book that the car was pre registered and was not brand new as advertised. To cut a long story short we contacted Motorpoint about the loss of power and the log book. They made no attempt to rectify either problem so we took the car to Mercedes who experienced the fault but could not locate what it was. We now think it was the ECU. My mother was too frightened to drive the car due to the loss of power fault to its sat in the garage for the last 3 years!. We started legal proceedings against MOTORPOINT requesting the full purchase price back because of the fault and the log book showed it wasn't a new car. Unfortunately my father died and my mother couldn't cope with taking them to court. We were advised we had a strong case. We are now asking them to buy the car back for its market value. TAKE THIS AS A WARNING.
