i had a 40hp carburated tohatsu, i traded it for the tldi when the first one hit the market, i think it was back in 2006(not sure) but it is now june 2012. the first thing i noticed about it over the carburated, is how much quieter it is, and it is a lot smoother running, far as power goes, i think the caburated mtr, had more, certainly not less, but that does not matter to me, i rarely run a outboard wide open. on a 16 ft mirror craft tiller, it will do about 35mph, since i fish mostily...
