“gmx locked my account for not reason and will not unlock”

They locked me out of one of my GMX account. I needed this account to get an Apple code so I could change my Apple subscription. GMX WOULD NOT HELP ME SO i AM LOCKED OUT THE GMX ACCOUNT AND HAVE TO CONTINUE TO PAY FOR THE APPLE SUBSRIPTION. THE FOLLOWING IS THEIR RESPONSE TO ME: 1 ​ Dear GMX Member, We understand your dismay, but it is indeed a decision taken by our security department. Unfortunately, we do not have more information than we can communicate. We understand that this answer does not satisfy you, but it is the only one that we can provide. Thank you for understanding. Disgraceful company. Like many negative reviews popping up for this company, they have blocked my account for absolutely no reason, with no accountability and no interest in addressing whatever they think the issue is. I can't imagine it's anything I've done -- I have very few emails and they're notably uninteresting! In any case, I'll never use them again, and nor should you. They have absolutely no regard for their users. They are more than happy to inconvenience you.

“they blocked me!”

I have everything on there and they have suddenly blocked me!! No number to call, just web form they dont respond to! Nightmare, I am properly stuffed now!!!!

5 days later and they have opened my account again, meanwhile all kind of problems been caused by having all my emails bounce. Completely irresponsible. They need to act like banks when your acc is blocked - ie let you sort it out quick. People rely on their email accounts!!!

Shame as other than that a fine service. Showstopper though

This is the worst email company I have ever come across. Sure you can get an account and run it for a while without an issue and run the client on your smart phone as well if you like. Just bear in mind that one day not too long down the track they will block you and you will lose all of your emails and contacts with no way back. There is no phone number just a web form to deal with them. Wait 24-48 hours for a negative one liner and then nothing at all. Just don't go here! Choose almost anyone else!

“Not a reliable service”

Emails don't reliably make it to their destinations, mails don't reliably make it to my inbox. Customer service is non-existant. Avoid GMX, there's way better mails out there.

“Don't use GMX email”

Had a lot of trouble with them. Lots of trouble logging in. "Invalid login id/ password" errors that were not correct. Finally they permanently killed my id but wouldn't say why. Probably because I sent them acerbic comments about their incorrect login errors. I claimed that they were incompetent, jerks, etc. Well screw them. They are incompetent. Really nothing that I liked about them except they worked sometimes. Don't care about uk laws either. Would rate them zero stars if I could.

I'm not the only one with this issue, but GMX, after using them for a number of years, they suddenly decided to block my account and will not restore it. Thankfully I had a copy of my data elsewhere, but from now on I'm sticking to companies that actually have a concept of customer service While I was using them I often found that emails went "missing" (never arrived, never sent) and was littered with non-relevant ads. They're only getting one star because I'm not able to give them 0 stars.

“Just terrible ”

Until it works apparently the service seems to be ok but... I didn't use it for six months and they deleted all my mails without any warning. I found myself unable to retrieve all my online purchases and receipts from various online services, included all my licenses software and even more my steam account. In repeated occasions they gone out of service leaving me in trouble trusting them. So i moved to another service more reliable leaving my mail with gmx just for licenses and purchases. i would have never expected that they was capable of doing worst then that Customer service stopped to answer me when i started to do difficult questions to them. So they knows they are wrong :) After all i advise to use gmx services just for temporary mails avoiding to manage important data because they could get lost very easily and even if asked politely many times arising the importance of the matter, customers service it will refuse to just resurrect your account. I am leaving them forever :)

“Features great. Service terrible”

I really liked the features they offer and was excited to find a service that offers whitelisting of email to keep your friends out of the spam filter. Unfortunately they blocked my account for no reason. Won't explain why and won't respond to my requests for help except to just say my account is blocked due to abuse. Now all of the stuff I was storing in my email folders is GONE, along with my contacts. They should at least give you a warning if you think you aren't following their arbitrary rules. Secondly let me get my stuff. This is why I don't like storing things on the cloud!! Never again.

“Good solid service”

Very surprised at all the negative reviews. For me, used almost exclusively via IMAP and SMTP, it's been faultless. I use it with Android via the default email client app, and in Linux, Windows 7 & 10 via Thunderbird on PCs. Good spam & virus detection and management. Useful calendar - links to Lightning in Thunderbird via CalDAV.

“GMX truely beats them all”

I've used GMX for the past ten years. I've also used gmail, outlook and yahoo. GMX beats them all. They completely respect your privacy. They don't add on services unless you choose them. There are no forms of deception what so ever. I've never been locked out and with every problem .. which are few ... they always answer in a timely manner. If you care about safety, privacy and security .. you can't get better than this. I highly recommend this service!! REALLY!!

“Broken”

Terrible, nothing works. Account was locked due to irregular activity, before ever using it. Took 2 days to resolve. Then it would not stay up more that an hour at a time.

“they intercept and read your emails !!!”

gmx.com is one of the worst email provider I've ever used. They are regularly having bugs and problems. Delivery and read receipts don't work but worst of all, the anonymous people intercept your emails and even read them ! After having noticed that many of my emails were delayed and lost, and fighting for weeks with their useless support teams, I realized that these people had just been involved in reading my private emails! Of course, they deny it and have never explained why my emails were delayed or read or had disappeared.

“Unreliable Service Emails Often Don't make it to...”

The worst issue experienced here is unforgivable for an email service; it sometimes simply does not send a message all the way to it's destination and does not always send a "send fail" message so you know it did not go through. Likewise, often a reply to my messages does not make it to me. Short of calling and asking the recipient, when it's important, if they received the message or did they send me a reply, I would never know there had been a hiccup. Otherwise I've missed important opportunities, apts, knowledge. This problem seems more likely to occur when an attachment is present. It also takes a long time to upload an attachment. It is a bad, bad day when an email service doesn't allow an email to reach it's destination and does not send you a notice that your message was not sent also when emails addressed to you never reach you and you never knew they were sent. Creates all kinds of personal problems in communication. This has been a consistent problem for a few yrs now. They have not corrected the problem yet. It's too bad.

“Gmx help support a nonsense expierence”

Gmx is a good webclient until you have a problem, better to say until their system creates you problems. If then contacting the GMX help support you get unbelievable stupid answers - complete nonsense - professional stupidity and cynicism attempting to make you desist and make your giving up, look as if the problem is solved or never did exist. They have bugs and don't admit it, they use spam filter and daily spam reports to make you log in directly on their website. If you happen to use IMAP you cant access mails listed in their spam reports as they don't appear in the spam folder. The way their support works is scary and make you aware that you don't have rights and cant relay on them, no transparency nothing to trust. There support was beyond my imagination the worst I ever experienced.

“Support does not exist”

I have had a GMX account now for several years and it has been fine when accessed via Outlook Express; however, recently my account began to receive spam mails (which never had happened before) and so I reported these to GMX via their contact form, including full headers so that they could update their mail filters and block any more such messages. Their response? To block my account instead!!! I have filled in the Contact Form several times only to be knocked back time and again (and never by name - being based in Germany, maybe they do not understand how to address customer contact issues). Apparently they have an abuse team, but there is no e-mail address for them or any method of contact them to clear up issues - it seems that if they do not like you and ban you, then that is it. There is no way to appeal or resolve matters. So, my overall comments are that I have been happy with the service provided in terms of POP3 access (I do not use the web interface) but their high-handed and inexplicable attitude towards a genuine contact of concern has left me feeling very negative towards them.
