Well, I had the worst experience I´ve ever had, and wanted to share it with you guys to avoid more people falling for this. I´m in Germany, were GMX is one of the biggest providers, they had an offer to test GMX TopMail for 3 months, with a veery small almost unreadable letter that says that in the moment you click on the offer, you´re obligated to pay for the service for one year (that means, a one-year long contract) Long story short, I got trapped by the offer, and after the 3... Been with GMX a good long time - only one day's downtime as they can be a bit overcautious about multiple computers being used - after a 24 hour fix that has never been a problem.. Logging in also a bit heavy with every week having to re-enter your email address, but spam filters are 99% for me and the speed is great. Also the auto link to my old Gmail is brilliant as I can see both from same place and respond as my Gmail address all in all 10 out of 10 (read more)

Although I went for the GMX Pro account, I get inundated with advertising which is not only visually annoying but slows down my computer. The actual program is extremely slow, tends to freeze and just very irritating to operate with. My advice -- stay away. There are many other email programs which work much better, are for free and actually work smoothly. (read more)

After having unresolved problems with my Yahoo account, I thought I'd give gmx.com a go. After sending out an email to my contacts notifying them of my change to gmx, I got an error message saying that too many emails were being sent. The limit of outgoing emails (because of spamming) is too small. The worse problem is that the service times out within about 5 minutes. Then I have to log back in. Now I am in search of another provider. The biggies are out because of privacy concerns. (read more)

Unfortunately this Company does not value its customers. You can only contact their Support by email and in my experience they seldom bother to reply. Recently they have started to block accounts whilst they sort out a spamming issue after a large number of users email accounts were cloned back in July. GMX claim the account information was harvested from a third party, however, it seems odd that the spammers only harvested GMX accounts! I question how secure personal data might be with... I've been using GMX for a few years now and really have nothing to complain of. Plain simple interface, solid POP3/IMAP and handy storage. Really don't see why there are so many bad reviews. I read mixed reviews about GMX, however this and several other professional reviews that ranked it highly, especially in terms of security and privacy, were the deciding factor in my moving to GMX. I deeply regret having done so. Almost immediately I was experiencing slow delivery times (10 minutes to several hours) and service outages. It was almost a daily routine that at some point I would be unable to access or use GMX through Thunderbird, but could do so through the web... (read more)

I am really stumped by the many negative reviews here. I signed up recently with GMX email and have had zero problems, either with the webmail , pop3, or imap. Right off the bat, I will let you know that I use Linux, or more importantly perhaps, is that I do NOT use Windows. I've used GMX exclusively for 2+ years. I've been "locked out{" only twice and their customer service got that fixed for me without pain or strain. I seldom use the web-based version of GMX but have found it very user friendly working with my Outlook seamlessly. I do note that if I send mass eamiling to my friends and family (over 5 addresses) the excess are "kicked back" to me. I've just send the list from another non-GMX address - end of problem. Five star service from GMX. I highly recommend this email service.

I've been using GMX for a couple of years. I find all the advertising and especially the silly Facebook links everywhere very annoying but probably GMX is owned by Facebook. The service has been reasonable until recently, when I was blocked from sending e-mails with a warning that this was because I'd been abusing the system. 1. Email should be virtually immediate, but if you are using this service to get emails via (eg Yahoo) another system, you will wait ages for them to arrive in your GMX inbox. And I mean hours. 2. I get 20 or so spam emails EVERY day, despite adding the addresses to the so-called Blacklist. 3. The so-called Help section isn't much help at all. 4. You can send GMX an email, but they never respond. (read more)

I second your comments, I joined GMX 12 months ago. I am using Yahoo at the moment and I to have worked in ICT for about 15 many years now and conducted many rigerous tests including its spam filter abilities and loading speeds.
I am personally very happy with it, the right stuff gets in the wrong stays out and the interfaces is very nice and smooth.
All the factors that people complain about which are related to speed and interface have many things that should be considered.
What browser, what graphics card, what processor they use etc. Almost everything is slow if you use IE as your browser.
I would happily say yes try GMX its very clean and fast in my experience.

GMX Mail is reliable, has all features I really need: handy and secure web interface with SSL(HTTPS protocol), POP3, IMAP4, SMTP, with SSL/TLS. I don't care about spam protection - it doesn't disturb me at all.
I migrated to gmx about a year ago from gmail, because its "advanced" spam filter roguishly robed me of some important contacts and it was a catastrophe.

I had Gmx and now al the sudden I was unable to login my account, it keeps saying is incorrect but I am sure I did not change my password. How do you contact them? I try calling their phone # in UK and it is the wrong phone# and also research their company and no answer ever!!! There support staff via email is a headache they just keep replying back their same messages over and over and it does not resolve my issue. I conduct business from the gmx and now loosing alot of info and important documents submitted to me. How did you get your email fix after 24 hours? do you have a better contact phone #?
