bought mine on a deal from a discount warehouse, first one lasted about 20 minutes of light usage then cut out and would not restart. the company exchanged it as it was only 1 day old! the second one i had worked ok for a total of 3 hours this was then put away until required next season.The chainsaw failed to start and due to repeated start attempts the recoil start failed.I stripped it only to find that the recoil mechanism was made from cheap plastic parts.I then tried to obtain spares to... i am the same as some of you guys got a jcb pcs38 chainsaw nearly new and will not start tried all the cure problem but no good can not get parts not good ad for jcb mine just sit here might aswell get rid in the bin lol (read more)

Absolute rubbbish! Recoil starter fell to pieces because it's made out of plastic. Then engine would not start because magneto module failed. Rang JCB for a spare part and was told there are no parts available. So the unit is junked after only 3 years of light use. Do NOT touch with a bargepole. (read more)

All in all, the JCB PCS38 gives you what you pay for, I required a cheap chainsaw to remove 3 trees in the garden, It performed the task without any problems. (read more)

I cut one tree up for firewood and my JCB PCS38 Petrol Chainsaw is already faulty. First the pump prime on the fuel side sprung a leek, I sent for a new one under warrenty, fitted it ,and now it has developed a flooding problem and will only run for short bursts. I contacted the parts supplier to send me a replacement diaphram and he could not obtain one. i had the same problem with this saw... my problem was the petrol pipe from the primer to the carb was drawing air try change that i bet it wil start if not i can take a look at it for u wher are u based
