“usage”

Written on: 29/03/2013 by baggit61

It is light weight and easy to use---But does not do mop boards edging well at all. I'm always stepping or getting up in cord. For the price of the machine should be retractable. The wand is totally not user friendly, does not have flexibility and does not extend well--fell it is very cumbersome to use (read more)

Letter actually written to Dyson - actually 6th letter asking for help!! Dyson- Here we go once again!!!! Here is a photo of the Dyson that I recently purchased for your company that possibly has the worst customer service EVER!!! I am sending a photo of where you have told me numerous times to look for the so called serial number that I need in order to get any kind of help at all!!! THERE IS NO SERIAL NUMBER ON MY MACHINE!!! “Still can't operate overall”

Written on: 05/01/2013 by Juanita41 (1 review written)

I purchased my Dyson DC25 from QVC, it's blue, but did not come with a manual, instead it came with a small 2-3 page cardboard brochure that only had pictures. The main head brushes need cleaning. I don't know how to take off to clean. I have a flat out tool that I don't know how to use. They showed it being used as a selling point, but by the time you get it you can't remember. There is nothing to show you how and when to use any particular tool. I think this is absurd! Another thing is it... (read more)

Beware of the DC25 it works for a year, then it problems after problems! This is a poorly designed machine, which isnt upto the job unless you live on your own with no pets or children. In a two year and a half, my DC25 has broken down 4 time. I bought the dyson as i believe it would be a good work horse, but i spent over three hundred pounds on a poor machine. The customer service is awful as well, the worse i ever had. Personal i feel dyson are ill equipped to deal with customers. Please... (read more)

dyson DC 25 is a great vaccum cleaner for floors not worth or anthing else Would nor recomment this for other purposes
You can vaccum bed easlily you can not clen fans blades with it
The main reason is that the hose is too stiff and suction will not let you used for anyother purpose BEWARE OF THIS BEFORE YOU PURCHASED FOR ANYTHING BUT FLOORS

“Not for Asthmatics”

Written on: 22/03/2012 by Bluesherpa (1 review written)

Don't buy this if you are an asthmatic. As the exhaust air from the ball blows on the floor blowing all the dust into the air. This is not good for asthmatics as breathing it the dust can cause and Asthma attack. One of the worst Dyson buys I have made. It’s a very expensive door stop. I just wish we had realised what the problem was and taken it back as unsuitable, but we left it to long and Dyson were not sympathetic to our problem. I wonder if other people have had the same problem as... (read more)

“No problems with this excellent cleaner”

Written on: 16/03/2012

Just received new Dyson DC25 having sourced it cheap-ish online (was going to go second hand but new wasn't that much dearer from currys!) I had borrowed my mums to see if this Dyson would work well in my house would do all the tasks I needed it to, which it did. On receipt of my new one, well, it's fab, so easy to fit together, didn't need the instructions, the whole thing is built simply and with common sense (not a word you commonly find in technically designed things!) Amazing... (read more)

“Heavy and cumbersome”

Written on: 08/01/2012 by Trafford (2 reviews written)

I was persuaded by friends to buy this as many of them rate Dysons. I myself prefer cylinders to uprights, but thought I would give it a go since we had just had new carpet installed and with having three floors (but only hard floors on the ground) we could have the Dyson for upstairs. Bit of a mistake. Trying to lug that thing up another load of stairs, or even do the stairs themselves is a real problem. It's probably the technique I use, and the fact I am used to cylinders, but it just... (read more)

I've had it for almost 2 years now, I have two dogs, it cleans the hair very easily, and carpets very well. Its not as good on actually larger pieces, but most of what I clean is hair and dust etc. I find it easy to manoever and the weight of it you get quickly accostumed to it. The ball is big, but if you don't fit under something, just take the wand out!! The cord is a little hasle but once again you get used to it. Easy to empty and no mess in the house when emptying in a bag. I clean the... (read more)

Written on: 02/04/2011 by charleygeorge (1 review written)

This is my first Dyson. I borrowed a friend's DC24 and loved it. Thought I would go one better with the DC25 as I have a hairy cat but am disappointed. Not very easy to manoevre and heavy. Needs emptying frequently. Some reviewers state the hose will not reach many stairs; I am wondering if they are omitting to attach the tube to the hose? The machine is not steady when using attachments. I have not yet tried to clean walls or ceilings and am rather dreading this. Are these machines... (read more)

hi
I am reading reviews trying to decide. I read you comment, the DC24 (2.6m)has a shorter hose than that of the DC25(4.4) hence the 24 will not reach up a standard stair case.

Written on: 18/03/2011

The Dyson 25 multi floor vacuum cleaner is a complete waste of money; It's heavy, bulkly & incredibly unwieldy. I had the original Dyson for over 15 years & loved it but, like one of the other reviewers, this one I would chuck out of the window if I could afford it. It is also USELESS for under beds; the huge ball means it will not fit and if you detach the handle, the large 'handle loop' is also too large; if you turn the handle parallel with the floor then the attachment is floating around... Written on: 11/03/2011

I bought this vacuum to replace an ageing DC04. I am surprised at how poor this cleaner is in comparison, it is difficult to push especially on carpet being heavy and difficult to steer. The suction is awful, considering this is the "animal" version. I complained to Dyson and they only suggested selling me more items to go with it, such as an extension to the telescopic hose which is too short to reach 2/3 the way up my stairs, I only live in a small council house!! Waste of money. Having had Dysons for many years I thought the DC25 would be as good as the preceding models: it is not. The back stand broke within weeks, as other reviewers have written the hose pulls the machine over and the container is tiny. When it actually works, it picks up ok, but I HATE IT WITH A PASSION. If I had enough money to chuck it out of a window, jump on the pieces and buy a different vacuum I would do it today. No, yesterday. Save yourself the bother and get something... (read more)

I purchased this DC25 All floors hoover 12 months ago, and what aload of rubbish it is. I have had 2 replacement hoses in this time, because it is not long enough for the stairs, and when stretched it has flew of which is dangerous and snapped. This is a brilliant vacuum. The suction is absolutely fabulous and it cleans my floors brilliantly. The hose I find is excellent and unlike other reviews, my dyson doesn't fall over when I stretch the hose.
However, the suction can be too strong in the hose. When i am vacuuming my curtains with the brush attachment it tends to suck the curtain into it.
I would have like to have known beforehand about the tools that come with the dyson and how reliable the suction is. I just hope this... (read more)

We are amazed at how well this hover picks up all of our puppys fur and even the mess that our 2 children make on a daily basis, we have to hover a few times a day,

Just bought and put together the Dyson DC25. It is dreadful. The machine has to be right next to you when using the hose. The hose has no stretch and when you do stretch it the whole machine is pulled over or bangs into you. The machine is very noisy and is flimsy.

We bought a DC25 a couple of months ago. No complaints about suction. We have a large staircase and the Dyson just will not reach, despite the 10m hose - I have to physically heave the whole machine from step to step to clean the carpet.
I threw the thing down in some anger yesterday when trying to clean behind our bed as I just could not reach without the Dyson 'treading on my heels' and even then the attachments are so narrow that any sort of vacuuming is difficult and not user-friendly.... (read more)

Being the owner of 3 british shorthair cats we decided to buy the dc25 animal as the other bagless hoover wasn't doing the job properly. I had big expectation from the dyson dc25 even though most of the reviews said the dc23(cylinder) was better, my hubby wanted the upright(dc25) so we bought it and we didn't find the dc25 that practical, quite heavy and complicated to manage so we sold it then bought the dc23 animal which is much more easy to use, the suction is much better than the dc25... Written on: 26/12/2009 by abooldson (1 review written)

The only problem being that when you pull out the wand the machine follows you,so to clean any corner high or low the machine has to be next to you, which seems to go against the logic of having a hose that will stretch 10feet. Having spoke to a manager in customer services he said " If you hook it behind the first step on the stairs it will stay there while you clean up the stairs." After the last Dyson I had I said never again but seeing the advert for the supposed ease of use of the ball design I thought why not. Well once again I regret it. Very awkward and hard on your arm. Picks up well but one try at using the tools shows once again the design is all wrong. There is no bend in the wand, wand too long to do the stairs easily and when you pull on the plastic hose(doesn't stretch easy enough) it is very hard to stop the machine toppling over. Written on: 02/11/2009

My new DC 25 back stand arrangement broke within 2 days. The wand is clumsy and not a patch on the other Dysons I have had. It is very 'plasticy' and frankly for the £300+ that it cost it isn't worth half of it. The cannister is small, the power cord shorter than other Dysons and as you can gather I am very unimpressed.

The one saving grave is that it is lighter than other Dyson models but even that won't make me keep it. (read more)

Written on: 22/10/2009 by zombiegoth (1 review written)

I would not recommend this cleaner, because it not what I have come to expect from Dyson cleaners, the power cable is considerably shorter than on previous models, and the brushbar defaults to 'On' every time the cleaner is turned off, and this can easily damage hard floors (as it damaged my own). It has very powerful suction, which is great for carpets, but I believe that the cleaner should have been fitted with a lower power setting for items such as doormats and small rugs. (read more)

I read all of the rave reviews and bought one. I was amazed at the great design in the machine. It picks up outrageously well, is quieter than I thought and empties like a breeze. It's easier to move around than a canister and because the weight is low (motor in the ball), it handles well. Even the hose and attachments work really well and are easy to deploy.
