Good Points: Space - multiple storage compartments along centre roof console that runs the entire length of the seating compartment, very handy.

Bad Points: Electrics - always fail when you leased expect it. front passenger and driver window motors need replacing as they do not function correctly when auto closing the window.
Engine - noisy in winter. Battery seems to suffer significantly despite the cold weather, although the dealer has tested it and has found nothing wrong with it.

General comments: Bought a Ford Galaxy Ghia 07 plate last year. Fairly smart vehicle, interior fully loaded compared to the older model. Electric everything, which isn't always a good thing... especially when they fail.
Storage space - Plenty, roof, doors, under seats, boot bins. Good for kids to leave their junk around the place.
Engine - surprisingly powerful and torque-e for a 1.8 diesel. Test drove the 2.0 litre and not much in it. Fuel consumption impressive. During a driving holiday around France it managed a cool 45 mpg on the motorways and 38 mpg in the towns.
It seems people always make a toss up between the S-max and the Galaxy and most go for the smaller because "I dont want to be seen driving a bus". To be honest there's not much difference between the two in terms of length and width and height... the rear end of the S-max tapers in as the galaxy just keeps going to provide decent head room for two adults to easily seat in the last two seats with luggage space... small luggage.
