well, i've bought this Dell Inspiron 1525 only 2 days ago, but i had some experience from my sister's dell inspiron 6400 which resembles to a large extent the inspiron 1525...
i think from my experience that 1525 has very strong keypads(better of course than hp) and it has very modern look not found in other dell models. It is quite great and the only thing that can bother is the sound, but just a pair of subs can fix it for sure. I will write here my review after somewhile to get sure whether i ...

well, the dell inspireon 1525 is a very good laptop, in general. The graphics card is not very good, so I wouldn't recommend this laptop for gamers. But the battery is fairly good and I personally don't think the fan is that loud, So, overall, this laptop is very good for the money you pay. The best part is that it can be customised to meet your specifcations. I recomend this for studying and working.

This laptop is shockingly bad. About a month after purchase we first had problems with it. First it was the CD drive and memory card slot not working. Since then we have had numerous problems with it. It is also very slow, in fact my 8 year old computer (not a Dell!) is faster. Now after the waranty has run out the laptop is barely useable. The battery life is awful. Beware of this laptop, I certainly wouldn't purchase another Dell computer again.

The Dell Inspiron 1525 has Bluetooth. Blu-Ray Optical Which You Will Not Get In Many Other Laptop. Webcam Again You Would Have to Choose Weather To Have The Webcam Or Blu-Ray You Can't Have Both
Well I Dislike The Crashes And a Few Errors On It And Mouse Is Jumpy, What I Do Like About It You Can Either Get Blu-ray Which You Can't get In Any Other Laptops Or Desktops Not That Have Heard Of. Next We Have a Webcam Again You Weather To Have Webcam Or Blu-Ray You Can't Both.

I Would Rate This At Ab ...

Dell Inspiron 1525 is not a bad laptop, but my wireless card's performance is mediocre. Does anyone else have this problem with the 1525?

This Dell Inspiron 1525 should not be purchased. Blunt, I Know. The machine is built to a very low budget which shows in its plastic feel. Yet for me, as an inspiron owner, my frustration is more with dell as a company than the machine itself. The Computer is incredibly loud, give it one month and you will notice significant slowing of the machine and a plethora of physical and software faults.
My machine now only functions with the internet in safe mode, for this dell want sixty pounds to fix. ...

I bought a pink Inspiron 1525 for my daughter, her first laptop. Looks great but discovered within hours that it wouldn't download from the internet. To cut a long story short I've had to spend a whole day onto DELL software support [don't know what that cost yet] + pay a £57 'software support charge' to correct what the tech rep said was corrupt software [on a product straight out of the box??]. Machine works now, but never again. As for DELL customer services...... "terms and conditions" ...

The DELL 1525 has all the features I required of late and the technology is tops.
The sound system could be better but I guess external speakers would solve that at very little cost.
Delivery was quick and after hours service really good. I had no problems with my laptop to date and would recommend that to anyone.

I bought my Inspiron 1525 nearly a year ago (with Vista home Premium software), and can honestly say that it is by far the best computer for home use I ever had. The keys are easily visible even in poor light, and the general layout is excellent.
Excellent value, truly great. And should the need ever arise for servicing - no intermediaries, all taken care of directly by Dell.

I just received this laptop a few days ago and I think it's great!
It's fast, easy to use and the fan is much quieter than my old laptop.
The battery last a good couple of hours and I would recommend this laptop to anyone.

I previously had a Dell Dimension (desktop) and was generally happy with it, but it was 5 years old and time to move on. I wanted a laptop to get rid of all the clutter that comes with a desktop, though against my instincts I went with Dell again... and am kicking myself for it now. Yes, the desktop was fine, but Dell's customer service--and I use that term loosely--is so horrible that I swore I'd never buy another. Yet here I am.
The Inspiron is just okay. Generally it works fine and speed is o ...

I bought an Inspiron 1525 which arrived quickly and without any issues. However I use the laptop for work when abroad. If I'm just editing a Word doc or Spreadsheet it's absolutely fine.
The DVD player is fine but the speakers are poor so you'll need separate speakers or headphones. Cheap and cheerful/good back up but you probably need to upgrade to something more powerful if you plan on doing a lot of work.

Easy to use, love the fact you can customise it! Looks great and is really light and easy to carry, ans also quite slim. Webcam could be better, battery isnt too good but I have it plugged in most of the time so its not a problem, keyboard feels a bit cheap. Well recommend
    Dell Inspiron 1525.

The Dell Inspiron 1525 is a really consumer friendly laptop. It has a low price for great features. Even the lowest grade one is good!
We got the basic one, and the only thing we added was a DVD writer. Even with only 1 GB of RAM it is good. It does get slow sometimes, but consider Vista likes more RAM than 1 GB and that it is an Intel Celeron processor and it is awesome.

I am quite satisfied with my Inspiron 1525.
Its not exactly a gaming laptop - more of a working thingy so the graphics card really sux, but when ur into gaming you shouldnt be buying this one anyways.
What annoys me sometimes is that the dvd drive opens randomly, I dont think thats a general problem though, and it doesnt happen very often either.
    No other problems so far.
I can recommend this Dell Inspiron 1525.

The fan comes on continually, even when in Hibernate, and it is very loud. Dell tricked me into sending it for repair, didn't repair it, and then said it was too late to return it. After 5 hours on the phone, they sent me a new one - as noisy as the first and the wireless card was defective besides.

I've always had a Dell, but the customer service yhas been unhelpful I have found.

I can't get any of my media (Youtube, iTunes, Myspace, Facebook, etc) to load. Is anyone else having this problem? My laptop is a few weeks old and it is quite frustrating! Not very satisfied! Therefore I do not recommend Dell Inspiron 1525 until my problem is sorted out.
