“Totally irrelevant information to reduce quote by £500-00”

Written on: 16/08/2016 by Flickthebean (1 review written)

One tiny fine scratch and a dent we could not find reduced the quote from the website £13,520 to £13,020. Our vehicle is in immaculate condition five years old and under 19000 miles on the clock. Although it is a commercial vehicle it has been used solely as a car. Their quote did not include the extras we had added as we did not tell them when getting the quote. The only part of the car inspected was the bodywork Their rep said he could not offer any more as a new version of this vehicle… Read Full Review

“Sell Your Car Privately Instead”

Written on: 15/08/2016 by lfPeacock312 (1 review written)

This is a total rip off. Show you an onscreen valuation which is below part ex value. Then when you turn up they spend half an hour taking the price down. Oh they said 6 service stamps on a 6 year old car was part service history. But just to complete the sham they say they will give the area manager a call to try and get a better price. When you put your keys on the desk they think it's their car and do not like it when you try to retrieve them. Sell your car privately instead, might take… Read Full Review

“just go to british car auctions”

Written on: 28/07/2016 by 357Grady (1 review written)

We buy any car simply offer you a trade price for your car assuming its in 'new' condition when you get there they disproptionatly mark your car down because its got a minor scratch and no 2nd key, and then they just put it in their auction and on average make £1000 your better off going to the auction company yourself… Read Full Review

“They need a dictionary.”

Written on: 26/07/2016 by riBurnham121 (1 review written)

If you are thinking of using We Buy any Car it is important to note that they apparently do not understand the meaning of the word "Guarantee". They "guarantee" to pay you a certain amount if you take your car in to them within 7 days but based on my experience your chances of getting that amount are virtually nil. They check the car over and then simply go on the internet to find the going trade rate for it --- what used to be called the "Glass's Guide" rate --- and that's what you get. The… Read Full Review

“NOT WHAT IT SAY'S ON THE TIN!!! ”

Written on: 23/07/2016 by Bea237 (1 review written)

Having had my Kia Sportage only 7 weeks and realising it was costing a fair bit to run now I'm doing the mileage, I decided to get a quote from WeBuyAnyCar - the online quote for £10,800 seemed reasonable given standard depreciation. At this point I'd like to say that the website itself claims to give a guaranteed price if your vehicle is in the condition it claims to be in even though the website itself has NO OPTION to state or declare vehicle condition - guaranteed remember- within days I… Read Full Review

“Didn't get the price they quoted”

Written on: 18/07/2016 by CarleyFarrell10 (1 review written)

Thought we were going to get a fair price for our car, judging by the quote given online and the fact that the car was in very good condition. However, on the day of the appointment, they deducted A LOT for minor scratches caused by brushing past hedges on country roads, and for a few scratches on the wheel trims. It certainly wouldn't have cost what they deducted to fix these 'problems'. We couldn't take the car back home, as the insurance expired that day and we were flying abroad later… Read Full Review

“#webuyanycar - not fit for purpose”

Written on: 15/07/2016 by Lewiscollins5 (1 review written)

Yesterday I confirmed the sale of my Aston Martin Vantage with the #webuyanycar based in beckenham. I never normally write reviews but the service has been dreadfull and incompetent to the point i felt compelled to share my story. I solely went to them on the back of there so called USP of taking the stress out of selling a car, when actually hassle free is far from the truth. Its been a complete hassle from start to finish. After 2 valuations including doing all of there checks more than once… Read Full Review

“WEBUYANYCAR BUT CHEAPLY ”

Written on: 13/07/2016 by VanBooter (2 reviews written)

Just for an quick valuation I tried webuyanycar on behalf of my mother. The car was a 2009 Kia Rio with 8500 miles on the clock and obviously in very good condition. Webuyanycar valued it at £2685 on 2nd july 2016. Quick research I discovered they send a trader to purchase the car and if they can't find any tiny reason to reduce their offer price will then purchase it. Obviously I wasn't happy with their offer and advertised the car online for £3600 which led to a sale of £3500 the buyer… Read Full Review

“Not happy”

Written on: 11/07/2016 by AimeeandMichal (2 reviews written)

Did a valuation online by entering my reg plate which bought up the make and model of my car. Then when I arrived they said they can't find my car on the system and said I would need to come back another time. But I had absolutely no problems when I took it to a proper car dealer who was happy to part ex it and for the same price I was offered on the website off this company... The man I saw I didn't really think was that friendly either just didn't seem very happy to help. Won't be… Read Full Review

“waste of time at Swindon”

Written on: 02/07/2016

Took car to Swindon branch after receiving valuation. Wasted an hour and was told valuation had reduced considerably because of two chips. Traded my car in at a local garage for considerably more than original valuation and also got an excellent reduction on car I was buying. A win, win situation!! A complete waste of time going to "Webuyanycar". Don`t bother. I wonder if anyone gets the full valuation as originally quoted?… Read Full Review

“Total Ripp Off”

Written on: 26/06/2016

Be very wary of any quote made by this company, as they say its not worth the paper its writtien on. Tried to sell my car to the Barnstaple branch, total shambles. When we did get round to the valuation an hour after my appointment time I might add, shock horror. We started off with the quote on on line of in excess of 4K. Now my car has had its speedo replaced by the dealer under warranty and is fully documented in the service book which was supplied. QUESS what because of the replacement ONE… Read Full Review

“You don't get the price quoted on the website!”

Written on: 24/06/2016 by Banks387 (1 review written)

Disappointed - we were quoted a price on the website, which we were happy with. At the appointment, the chap deducted A LOT of money off this quote, as the car had a few minor scratches on the wheel trim and a couple of very minor scratches on the front passenger door caused by tree branches - both issues easily remedied at minimal cost, certainly not what he deducted. As our insurance ran out on that day, we had no option but to accept this greatly reduced offer, but were left feeling… Read Full Review

“really not a very good experience”

Written on: 18/06/2016 by Haleigh310 (1 review written)

I have to say I was sceptical from the outset. When I put in my car details a month ago it gave a valuation of 7300. Now that im actually ready to sell my car I did it again. I paid particular attention to the assumptions the site makes, such as 6 months + MOT. I amended all of these as it only had a month left, service history is incomplete etc. However to my surprise the valuation came out even higher at £7400? At this point im assuming that the reviews I have seen are correct and that this… Read Full Review

“A Joke?”

Written on: 04/06/2016 by 43Blackwell (1 review written)

My Nissan Micra, though fairly old, had a very low mileage and was in excellent condition. I was offered £130. The following day I advertised it on Gumtree, received 18 immediate responses and sold it to the first viewer for the asking price of £500. So, by not using We Buy Any Car, I saved £370. Two months later, I am still being pestered by this company to request a further valuation, and being told how wonderful they are!… Read Full Review

“Online quote is pointless”

Written on: 30/05/2016 by GiancarloRafferty395 (1 review written)

Car was described accurately online (including engine management light issue). Online quote was £8517. Identical cars were selling privately on autotrader for £9k. I was hoping for £8k sale to trade due to the mechanical issue (had £600 quote to sort it but happy to not have the hassle). Car was 8 years old but in decent nick. Appointment was 11.30, was kept hanging around until 12.20. The guy was very friendly and polite, and very thorough on the car. When he filled in the sheet he… Read Full Review

“Fantastic, easy and stress free.”

Written on: 30/05/2016 by DavidHiley (1 review written)

I wanted to stool my car quickly and easily so I got a valuation online in about ten seconds. I then visited (with slight apprehension) the Altrincham site and was greeted by Griff who was absolutely superb. I cannot praise him highly enough. I won't bother trading in or trying to sell my cars privately again when this is so easy. Griff is a very pleasant guy to trade with and made the process very easy to understand. As long as you don't have ridiculous romantic ideas about your car's… Read Full Review

Spanieldog's Response to DavidHiley's Review

Written on: 30/07/2016

Is this review serious?!!! My experience with We Buy Any Car was entirely the opposite. Your chances of getting the value they promise you are zero and the value you do get is laughably low. I walked away and my "ridiculous romantic ideas" about my car's value turned out to be pretty accurate as I easily made that amount by selling on Auto Trader within just three days. Unless you're really desperate don't use WBAC.

“Worst place ever”

Written on: 28/05/2016 by Stone288 (1 review written)

I have a Lux car which is valued treat in value of atleast 2000 dollars. Does the car have some issues yes so that online quote of 1850 we knew would not be what we got. they offered up 400 dollars. My wife not knowing took to offer. when she got home I said hell no. She called the manager who hung up on her and then when I tried to call they hung up on me. After a few hours I finally got to the regional manager who I told I will be there to get my car back and give them their check back. If… Read Full Review

“Should be called "worst car buyer".com”

Written on: 16/05/2016 by GeorgeBranhurst (1 review written)

Im totally lost as to how this company can advertise such savings as £2500 per car when they very simply put, renege on their on screen price......thus costing me money and catergorically not saving me a pound let alone two and a half thousand of them!! Surely the relevant watchdogs should be all over them and trading standards..........actually questioned myself until I found a similar company that offered more and stuck to it, thus proving what we buy any car are!! Anyway.....big thank… Read Full Review
