Good Points: Beautifully maintained site, lovely reception area, very pretty with lots of flowers etc. The pitches were a great size with lots of shade from the beautiful pine trees. Very relaxing to just sit and watch the squirrels busying themselves in the trees! I think that's what I loved about this place the most was the serenity. The staff are incredibly friendly and although we always tried our best pigeon French, their excellent English put us to shame but they do appreciate the effort. Facilities are v good -laundry, food, shop, swimming pools, refuse area etc.

Bad Points: There is only one small issue I had and that is that the shower blocks can be a little on the nippy side. The wind can blow through the shower block we were using so I never had a very long shower! Having said that they are exceptionally clean and I never had to queue or anything.

General comments: Jard Sur Mer is a gorgeous little village with lovely butchers, patiserie etc. Just opposite the campsite is a rocky shore which would be perfect for children to while away a couple of hours. Lots of lovely walks in surrounding pine forests. We found other gorgeous beaches further along the coast which were stunning and relatively quiet but it was September so I suppose that is not unusual. Supermarkets within 10 mins drive with petrol area etc.
We have gone 3 years in a row, its a do-able drive from Cherbourg, about 4.5 hours if I remember correctly, just enough to time to pitch the tent, unpack, cook a little something and open a lovely bottle of wine. AAAhh! Thats the life!

Spent a week at this site in June 2007. We are novice caravanners and this was our first trip to France under our own steam. We did not know how we would get on under French management but they were actually more helpful than some of the Brits who ran the next site we stayed at, which had scores of 10/10 from another reviewer.
