“Try for yourself”

Written on: 16/05/2015 by MrsSchumacher (1 review written)

I bought 4 meals for my elderly parents to try. I read all the reviews but I'm so glad I didn't let them put me off. They deliver in your area on certain days and the lady who brought them was lovely. She explained everything to my dad. They tried the roast beef and was amazed at the amount of food. They both really enjoyed the meal and will definitely be buying more… Read Full Review

“Please don't eat, it's awful”

Written on: 22/04/2015 by Houghton44 (1 review written)

I can't beleive all these comments about how bad Wiltshire Farm Foods are, I mean Ronnie Corbett eats them don't he ?. But o dear god, I bought a weeks supply because they can't be that bad but they are horrible. Very nasty taste, loads of salt and the after taste is just plain nasty. I chucked it away before I chucked up and had a cheese sandwich instead. Ended up microwaving, cooling and feeding them to the gulls ( don't think they were impressed either ). So it's simple, the meals are nasty… Read Full Review

“Not just a problem with the meals”

Written on: 10/04/2015 by wesgar64 (1 review written)

I have eaten the meals occasionally for app. four years, but not as a main meal the quantity is too small. Some time ago I was advised against using a card as payment , I ignored this advice for my last two orders and find that my account is debited within 24 hours although my order is not due for seven days. I make all patrons aware of this, where else would you pay for a meal 1 week before you receive it. As an extra, larger meals at mainly at £1. 00 by a well known company , ........ Kids… Read Full Review

“Same after taste as having been sick....rubbish”

Written on: 05/03/2015 by Duganli181 (1 review written)

I was given a weeks worth by my son, god they were awful like eating sick. Very over salted, under cooked, greasy and just plain nasty. Reading some of the comments below makes you think Wiltshire Farm foods have people put comments on here because it really is nasty rubbish… Read Full Review

“Surpsiringly Good”

Written on: 04/03/2015 by skpa (2 reviews written)

I am not elderly but have been using them as having been in hospital I needed to watch exactly what I was eating as in certain types of foods and when for a while and this fitted the bill for me without a lot of hassle and preparation . I have seen the reviews about small portions but to be quite honest for between £2 and £3 what do people expect , if you want a bigger meal then they have the Hearty option for larger meals or you can add veg , potatoes etc from their Choices option. I know we… Read Full Review

“Huge disappointment”

Written on: 27/02/2015 by Greyson440 (1 review written)

We ordered an initial supply of these for our elderly mother, who was delighted that she didn't have to worry about cooking. After a few days, we called to see how she was getting on and she confessed that after eating five dinners, she simply couldn't face any more as she found them overtly salty, tasteless, (apart from salt!), mediocre in size and generally highly unpalatable. We decided to cook one of the remaining meals and eat it ourselves. Our mother was absolutely right - ghastly rubbish… Read Full Review

“I'd rather eat dog muck.”

Written on: 24/02/2015 by GuillermoDuckworth1948 (1 review written)

Dear god, where do I start. My son in law bought me a weeks worth of these so called meals so that I could have more time to relax after a recent operation. I'm now sure that he wants to bump me off so my daughter can claim my life insurance because these meaks were simply rubbish. Small portions, badly cooked ( over salted ), cartons that crack at the smallest touch and the worst was the foul taste that's left over in your mouth after eating. I now refuse to eat this rubbish and have offered… Read Full Review

“Excellent service and good food on my first order”

Written on: 23/02/2015 by BreannaKemp1970 (1 review written)

I have logged in here to write this review as I am horrified by all the bad reviews, I can only conclude that they have been written by people with an axe to grind. I took delivery of my first order today I ordered primarily to ensure that there were decent meals available for a teenager to microwave when I am not around to feed him. We taste tested the meals this evening and my son thought I'd cooked his meal myself, his verdict was that it was 'ok Mum', when I told him it was a ready meal… Read Full Review

“I wish”

Written on: 11/02/2015 by magenta15 (1 review written)

I wish this review was on the quality of the food but my father/in/law has yet to try them, tried to order last week but as they deliver in certain areas on certain days we had missed the deadline so had to wait another week, the day came and NO meals. After many phonecalls in over a week and after reading the reviews wish we hadnt bothered… Read Full Review

“Bet Ronnie Corbett don't eat this muck !”

Written on: 09/02/2015 by ArielGilbert (1 review written)

I thought the dumping of toxic waste was illegal ?, so how come Whiltshire Farm Foods are able to dump this muck on our plates. It's just nasty, very nasty. Tastes awful and there's nothing of it ( good job in a way ! )… Read Full Review

“Horrible”

Written on: 09/02/2015 by 333Parrish (1 review written)

I wanted to ensure that my nan was stocked up on food in case she couldn't get to the shops. I read many reviews on a few web sites and concluded that Wiltshire Farm Foods couldn't be as bad as written, after all, Ronnie Corbett advertise them. When the delivery arrived, I thought I'd treat nan to a nice meal and afters so placed the meals in the oven and waited for the results. Disapointing was an understatement, nan just looked at her plate and asked if that was it. Very small portions and… Read Full Review

“Expensive and nasty.”

Written on: 07/02/2015 by AlianaLane172 (1 review written)

My nanny gets Wiltshire Farm Foods meals regularly as they are a very easy way for her carer to make lunch and dinner for her. I visited her one day to find the carer making a chicken cobbler followed by Bakewell Tart.Nanny was visibly distressed whilst eating the Chicken cobbler, I told her don't eat it if you don't want to so I made her a ham sandwich which she tucked into with gusto. All was not lost however, there was still the Bakewell Tart to come which was still in the oven. As I was… Read Full Review

“Shocking”

Written on: 07/02/2015 by Wyattob22 (1 review written)

We purchased a plan with Wiltshire farm foods for my grandad. I really wish we never heard of them. The meals were shocking, small, badly cooked and really nasty. My Grandad said that he had more food given to him whilst being entertained by the Waffen SS during a stay with them and, when liberated, he was given a daily feast by the Soviet Red Army compared to the muck that Wilshire Farm Foods dish up. It's just nasty and horrible. Please, please avoid… Read Full Review

“absolutely awful”

Written on: 07/11/2014

We bought these meals and deserts because they looked delicious and full of good nutrition, and because we needed something easy to prepare in the case of illness. We were so very disappointed with all of the ones we bought which was 13 dinners and 8 deserts, the only one which was reasonable and managed to get eaten was the plum and cherry crumble. We couldn't finish any of the others because they were so awful and I certainly won't be recommending them to anybody. We had high hopes for these… Read Full Review

“Good food let down by appalling attitude & customer...”

Written on: 04/04/2014 by Burgessdp1961 (1 review written)

We ordered these wiltshire farmfoods meals with puddings, and if you like old fashioned British Meals then there are very few complaints with the food and being veggie a nice range too. Sadly the containers they come in are very brittle and thus when they are being thrown around and boxed etc some end up broken. This then makes them a health hazard as well as unpalatable. But that's OK cos they have a deal if you have a complaint they will replace it & give you another free. This worked… Read Full Review

Skarmory's Comment

Written on: 23/02/2015

All the cartons delivered to me were fine, no problems at all, even after cooking. I would suggest refusing delivery of damaged items and if the person receiving the deliveries is unable to do so then ensure someone else is available to check the.

“Wiltshire Farm Foods”

Written on: 15/01/2014

I made the mistake of buying a number of ready meals from Wiltshire Farm Foods (approximatley 30 meals in all). they were delivered 'free', with a number of offers to buy more for a discounted price. Basically, these meals are very expensive compared to an average supermarket ready meal (and much, much worse). As for quality, I strongly urge anyone reading this review to avoid these at all costs. The meals are incredibly bad value, and in my opinion, many are inedible. For example, the 'extra… Read Full Review

“ SEEN MORE FOOD DISHED OUT ON PLATES IN FILMS ON BELSEN”

Written on: 19/06/2013 by johnwataboy (11 reviews written)

I'm not a glutton by a long way, but I like a good substantial meal down me to see me through the day. Only once did I buy meals from Wiltshire Farms Food, and never again. The meals were an insult to mankind. One particular meal was a chicken dinner, which was no more than what you would get in a NAAFI sandwich., i.e. two bits of bread and nothing in between. It was two tiny slices of a chicken, half a carrot, two baby boiled potatoes and three button sprouts. It wasn't enough to… Read Full Review
