I have read some of the other comments posted here and I agree that the car is good looking and is a good drive, but the car has not been all that reliable for the three years I have owned it. I have had trouble with a couple of sensors on the engine causing it to rev erratically and not to rev at times when the accelerator was pressed. The reverse sensors constantly go off when reversing even though there is nothing behind you. To top it all off, both front doors locking mechanisms have gone fa ...

Bought my 2002 BMW 318ci in Oct 07, superb car, always wanted one, and was not disappointed. Mine is black with black polished 18 alloys, looks the business. I'm would recommend this model to anyone thinking of buying one, the engine sounds great and the overall ride and comfort is superb, mine has full hide leather interior which feels like an armchair when your driving. Looking at adding a twin cat back system to give a bit more power, but no need to go too mad, as it is powerful enough.

I love this car, i have put a sports system on it (cat back) it made a real difference in power, though you pay the price in a little extra noise, it worth it though. I am a bit of a car swopper but this one i will keep love it.

The 318i M Tech versions are some of the nicest looking coupes on the market.

With it being black it will always be in fashion. I think it is better looking than the new model; it's more smooth. Someone called it The Bat Mobile. I love it. Still drives like the day I picked it up, great on long journeys.

I smile every time I drive this BMW 3 Series 318 Ci (it's the 1 in the pic) hard ride but makes for unrivalled handling. I test drove the Merc equivalent and the 2 don't compare. Absolutely love this car and would recommend it to everyone. Averaging around 34mpg and that's with a heavy right foot. Twitchy handling at first but once you realise it's because it's razor sharp it's amazing. I also love the electric pop-out windows at the rear, so cool!

Yes, I have a BMW 3 Series 318 Ci 2002 sports car and its great. But I always and still think that the engine sound is too loud. Especially when starting the engine. Sometimes with noticeable jerking.
I took it to three garages to check (including the dealer) and they said its fine! (wonder if all 318 Ci do that or only mine???)

Other than that, its an awsome drive, with great control. And its really spacious.

I bought the BMW 3 Series 318 Ci , which has the 143bhp 2.0 engine, to replace a VW Golf GTI. The car was a revelation to drive once I had got used to its very responsive handling, which made the car seem 'twitchy' at first but feels balanced and communicative when you get used to it. This car corners like it is on rails and inspires great confidence.

Build quality is also very good - nothing of note has gone wrong in 45k miles of ownership and the smooth 2.0 engine just gets better with ag ...

Yes, the 318ci is an excellent drivers car.
I imported mine from Germany last year. Very pleased with it. I opted for one the BMW individual colours (atlantis blue) with the sport pack and xenon lights. A well balanced car.

Just got a new BMW 318 Ci with 17 inch alloys and am very very impressed. Having previously owned a Golf GT TDI, it's great to drive a car that doesn't wallow when cornering. The engine is a 2 litre 143bhp unit that is very impressive. There is very little to justify the 320 2.2 litre six cylinder when the 318 goes so well. Why pay higher insurance and more company car tax for an engine that shows no added benefit until you get it into the high rev range. The grey/green colour has the advantage ...
