I have used Internet Hobbies for over 8 years now and have never had a problem. Once last year the owner, shipped an order I canceled. Its value was over $250.00. I returned the model and the credit was not issued to my account a simple mistake, we all make them. We decided to use the credit for other merchandise and in the end I received more than what was owed me in merchandise. I will continue to use this company as long as he is on the internet. This is a hard one to respond to as I don't know the exact situation or person who wrote this review. Most e-commerce businesses get a huge volume of emails on a daily basis. Each email is important to us and we always strive to stay with in that 24 hour response time. Occasionally an email will end up in our spam folder which can cause a slight delay if we don't catch it. Frankly, I've always found it to be much better to just call the toll-free number and talk to me directly.

“WORST SELLER EVER”

Bought a locomotive and it has been a month with no package in sight! This company is just awful and treat You like a pest! Wish I had read the reviews before dealing with them, there it comes up like a big red "dont go there". Been dealing with many other on line businesses and they all where great. Here's what happened on this person's order. We had a sale on Broadway Limited locomotives that was very successful based on the low prices. He ordered his locomotive and we immediately shipped it out. Here's where the problems started. One of our shipping clerks must have gotten his order confused with another and shipped his order to someone else. That is why we kept telling hum his order was shipped. About a week later we received a phone call from the customer we had shipped his order to. We immediately dispatched an electronic UPS return label to him and asked that he return the goods to us as soon as possible. Unfortunately, he went on a business trip and left the package with his wife to ship back to us. For some reason, unknown to us, she failed to do so. He shipped out the return to us when he arrived back hone. This customer was located in California so it did take 5 days to get it back to us. Once we had the goods back in our possession, we immediately posted it to the original customer. I've had to let the shipping clerk go as his mistake has caused us to lose a valued customer. I apologize for what happened with this customer. It was just a series of unfortunate events.

“worst service ever”

Very poor service,never have experienced such rude people to deal with. My order was not mailed until three weeks after payment.But it says express international mailing with 3-5 days. When confronted the response was that the item had been posted three weeks ago what was just a lie. USPS recorded receiving the item three weeks after the initial order. Order a model kit using paypal acct. . Had enough money left for a second cheap kit, that I could afford because of the combined postage. Received the e mail saying We got your order and money but we wont guarentee you your merchandise. No communicatin from company til after a partial order was sent. It is obvious that you did not understand that this was a store wide liquidation sale and as such the merchandise was extremely limited. We sold out that item earlier in the day and tried to remove it from our website as quickly as possible. This promotion was based on the shelf merchandise and that was why the price was so low. The other item that was shipped had a retail price of $29.00 and was sold to you for only $8.00. That was a savings of $21.00. We're sorry the the other item was sold out but that's what happens on a fast paced sale. We told our customers when we stated, "Supplies are extremely limited and at these prices we expect item to sell out quickly. Don’t hesitate in getting your orders in."

But there is one more thing I'd like to say to you. Why would you feel it was your duty to write such a scathing review on what was such a trivial incident. Do you think this little matter really required you to defame and try and harm our business? We've been in business for 18 years and have served thousands of happy customers and I have the Yahoo! reviews to prove it.

I would hope that anybody reading this would understand that writing a review such as this is totally out of proportion to the harm it can cause a business. We're only a small business trying to do our best.

Since this reviewer has chosen to remain anonymous, I can't really get to the bottom of this problem. If there was a problem with his transaction, I will be glad to review it with him/she if they would contact me directly at our toll-free number listed on our website.

Anyone reading this should keep in mind that many anonymous reviews can originate from disgruntle ex-employees or competitors trying to harm our online reputation. I'm happy the Review Centre gives us a chance to reply to these reviews. We've been in business for 18 years and have served thousands of happy customers Every customer has the opportunity to rate our performance through Yahoo! Stores. The vast majority of these reviews are "EXCELLENT". That's not to say that over the course of 18 years we haven't had a few unhappy customers. Usually this can be handled with a simple email or phone call.

“Dubious business practices”

I had a couple of satisfactory transactions with Internet Hobbies in the past but I wish I had checked their Better Business Bureau rating (F) and online reviews (overwhelmingly 'poor') before placing another order. My first suspicion as to their business practices came when they charged my credit card account immediately on receiving the order. The "F" review was for 4 unhappy customers out of over 186,000 orders over the last 18 years. The BBB would be glad to change our rating if we agreed to pay them over $500.00. This type of extortion by the BBB is a typical tactic they employ to "shake-down" businesses. I'll be glad to show you hundreds of excellent reviews from happy customers. Keep in mind that any person can write something negative about you without any verification as to the truth.

I remember this guy. It was right after the Christmas rush of 2012 when he contacted me via the telephone. His order was for a couple of bottles of paint and some weathering chalks from MiG. In December we hired some additional help to see us through the holiday increase in business. Unfortunately, some of these guys weren't the brightest bulbs in the Christmas tree light string. One of them had misplaced his order. When I started talking to the customer to explain what happened, I was immediately bombarded with a string of fowl language that would make a sailor blush. Now I don't know about you but there is no way I'm going to let someone rant and rave and call me every name in the book. I must admit I lost my cool which added to the problem. This is unfortunate but I think we all have run into this type of guy in life. He just can't let you get a word in edgewise. After his rant, I immediately canceled his order and refunded his money to PayPal. I hope he has a chance to reflect on my answer and realize that I was extremely sorry for the things I must have said and apologize for exacerbating this incident.

I honestly don't know (they never replied to my email inquiry as to where my stuff was), though I suspect it's because they simply didn't have what they claimed they had. “Search Rankings Do Not Mean Quality”

Why be in business if you're not going to do business? It should have been a simple transaction. 1) Look for Tasca 1/35 M4A3E8 Sherman online; 2) "find" it at Internet Hobbies; 3) order it from Internet Hobbies. And that's when things went so wrong.
