worst ever expierence ordering from this bogus company. been over a year and order never completed despite multiple excuses and disrespectful responses on their part.BEWARE, do your homework and research reviews before ordering . been buying online/ mail order since 1975 and this is worst, dishonest practices,rude responses to questions.

Hello, Never received my order or a full refund. They are horrible to deal with. Ended up finally getting a refund through my Credit Card company. Don't take my word for it look them up with the BBB before you use them. I also filed a complaint with BBB against Internet Hobbies. .

I ordered (3) models from them on 3/26/21, with a 2-3 day shipping per the information on their website. After a couple of weeks went by with no update on my order, I emailed them for status. They replied that my order was complete and would ship on 4/13/21. I never received the tracking number promised by them when the order left their warehouse, so I emailed them several times with no response. They finally responded on 5/4/21 stating that my order would ship the next day and I would receive a tracking number. Once again, no tracking number or confirmation was received. I emailed them back demanding a full refund, to which they replied "I have forwarded this email to my lawyer". I repeated my demand for a refund via email and the company replied "F-OFF". I called my bank and reported the company. My bank refunded my money, but I am inclined to warn others about this horrible company.

Ordered $198 worth of 5 models over 2 months ago. Credit card was immediately charged but no further communication. No merchandise sent. No reply to multiple email inquiries. At the same time, kept sending similar discount ads by email. Almost identical experiences as other reviewers. I know I will never get my money back from them; but I am sure God will get him good on day.

Do not even think of ordering from them. They have only done one thing since I put in an order 12 months ago is to take my money as soon as I put in the order, before they even checked they had the items in stock. They normally do not answer enquires, or just come back with ‘Will check when we open’, etc (auto replies) , but never ever have they responded after these short impolite replies. I have asked them to cancel the order on many occasions since they have no chance of getting the items in stock, but they just ignore every request. Everything they do (or is it don’t do) is worst practice.

I placed an order and within minutes my card was charged for $104, $82 item + $15 shipping and tax). I got an email saying "Thank you, you'll receive an update after your item ships". 10 days later, no update. When I reached out to inquire, I got a surly 1 liner "We will investigate and respond in 24 hours." About 2 days later, still no answer, so I reached out again and said I was thinking about cancelling the order. It took them all of five minutes to answer that "Your item is in shipping, you should receive notification and tracking within 24 hours". A couple days later, still nothing. So I disputed the charge with my bank. Internet Hobbies reached out to comment on that, expressing disappointment. Within a day of that, I got "Your item is back in stock and will be shipping in a week!" However, I emailed them to cancel my order and finalize the card dispute. Still no response to that. Their customer service is shoddy, their website is poorly designed, and they can't even keep their inventory straight. For reference, I had also purchased a model from a retailer in the UK, estimated 1 week delivery. It was on my doorstep within 5 day, including customs, transit, etc.

INTERNET HOBBIES, aka - MODEL SHIP DEPOT, MILITARY MODEL DEPOT, MODEL AIRPLANE DEPOT all the same On-line mail order schemer. I've been a plastic model builder for over five decades and have dealt with over two dozen mail order businesses(placed my first order in 1970 with Squadron Models). Earlier this year I thought I'd give Internet Hobbies a try(didn't do my homework first, big mistake). Placed a $100 order and 4 weeks later got a box with half my order(no shipping invoice was included, a big RED FLAG). Went to my online account with them and it showed order FULFILLED! I then used their online contact form and heard nothing back. Six more inquires plus phone calls yielded nothing. About the same time I placed an order with Military Model Depot(wasn't until later that I found out they were the same people). That was a $50 order which has yet to be delivered and probably never will. Their policy is no refunds after 30 days, convenient for them since all the have to do is stall you for those 30 days. Go with reputable businesses or Ebay. They may get the latest kits but that's it. No real time inventory on any of their websites, so you're at their mercy(which they have none). They also aggressively email their always %50 off sales. How is it they can send out daily emails from four websites constantly updated, but can't return one customer inquiry email. BUYER BEWARE- CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE LAST THING ON THEIR LIST.

Around 9 years ago I ordered from them and it showed up a few weeks later just fine. I recently ordered from again and...nothing. Two months have gone by and not a word or parcel. Someone keeps updating their site too BUT I saw a photo of (who I think) is the owner, and he looked quite old-late 70's maybe. I wonder if he's deceased and someone else is using his site.

I ordered my models two months ago and after the first month only got one of three orders and one model from a second order, after paying extra for shipping that they belatedly demanded. On my internet log-in account they got the fulfilled /patially-fulfilled orders mixed up. I have sent them three emails to get this rectified, but have not received a reply.It is unlikely that they ever will reply to me. I am a patient person, but their service is up to the standards expected in the model industry. This business does dot ship the products paid for. Avoid them at all costs, because you will loose your hard earned money.

I have made 5 orders since April 29 for 10 kits. I have received 5 of the kits. I'm surprised I got any!!!! I have contacted them by phone, message & email for the past 2 months and get no response. I paid for over $300 in kits. I have filed a complaint with the BBB, but don't expect it will do any good. If anybody out there knows another way to get them to respond, or someone else to file complaints with please inform me. I don't intend to lose $300 to them!!!

Made an 82.44 purchase May 10th, 2020 and was charged in full. Site says account unfulfilled and when questioned by email, the only way to contact them, was told give it 24 to 48 hours after multiple attempts of contact. Have read reviews on Yelp and the BBB and pretty much the same. too bad, I wanted the merchandise at a good price. Take my advice before you order and read all the latest reviews and you will see a pattern of trouble. save yourself the trouble and purchase elsewhere.

I got suckered by the low prices, and then did the research. Big mistake. Card charged next day, supposed in stock items mysteriously not in stock, communication consists of ‘we’re closed until Tuesday’, ‘believe it’s been sent’, ‘please be patient ‘, lots of stalling, I guess so others money could be collected. Oh and advertisements almost every day selling other models i’ll bet were in the warehouse. No communication on when these kits are being shipped or when the refund will be sent. NOW a couple more specific hobby companies, Armor Depot, Aircraft Depot appear with too similar websites to be a coincidence! I wonder who it could be. I may be mistaken, but I don’t think I’ll be taken this time. Be advised, and use trusted vendors.

Entered order on 4/15/2020 and was immediately charged full amount. And then found the reviews. Started emailing them on 4/18/2020 and was surprised to get a response to shipping "If it wasn't in stock how could we ship it in the time frame we stated". Their web site still shows 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS and it has been one month. Even with them being closed on Friday - Sunday, (not advertised) this lack of shipping a product "in stock" for 30 calendar days is ridiculous. As of 5/14/2020 order is still "unfulfilled". Have cancelled order and contacted Bank and credit card company. Registered a complaint with BBB.

I am not sure who all this people are who give this abortion of a company five stars but I bet they all work for them. I ordered four in stock paint items over 30 days ago, they charged my CC immediately. Then nothing, I understand that it needs to be ground shipped and I understand that the pandemic has screwed things up, however that doesn't you can't respond to five emails. I would be willing to wait a month if in fact they planned on shiopping the items. It seems that the company just picks and chooses what to actually ship. I disputed the charge with my CC coompany and Internet Hobbies initially told them I received the order, but then they could not produce a shipping record.

I neglected to check reviews before I ordered from this company. Bad mistake, but after three weeks of arm-wrestling, I got my money back, so I feel fortunate. Hooray! They claim they are struggling with the effects of the pandemic, but they still run weekly "50% Off" internet ads, so I wonder. And their practice of charging your credit card at the time of purchase, rather than waiting until shipment, is suspicious. My best guess is that this company is in way over its head, even in the best of times. They really have no clue if or when an order will ship and they get snotty when you dare to inquire (by email only - no telephone).

I am experiencing the same level of frustration. If I don't see a shipping confirmation in the next couple of days I will be using fraud protection on my credit card and notifying the consumer protection division of my state's AG's office.

Like many I have had the same problem I prepay for models that never seem to ship (4 months now). I send email after email I get no response I try call the line is disconnected.

Pre-Paid up front for 2 model kits including postage to Australia. 1 year later when models were still supposedly not available at Internet Hobbies, but were available everywhere else, I requested a refund or to send the models. They refused to refund or send models going so far as to say that I could not have paid via Paypal as this was not accepted by them. I sent a receipt to them confirming the Paypal transaction and all communication with them was then lost. The person I dealt with was the person who I had attempted to resolve the issue with, and throughout she was arrogant but ceased communication immediately once the paypal debacle presented and she was caught out. I would strongly recommend no involvement with these scoundrels and shop at other outlets.

claim they were preparing my order, then i only received 2 items of the 5 i ordered. have emailed, but no response as to why the other part of order have not been shipped yet. if you claim your preparing my order that tells me all items ordered will be shipped not some.

I was having trouble getting something shipped and when asked about it showing in inventory. the guy said "We never stock anything." I think they rely on drop ship vendors, but those are going away. It's run by two guys trying make a buck. you can hear one of them in the background trying to fill orders by calling vendors.

What's wrong with a couple of guys trying to make a buck? Anyway, I checked their website and they clearly state they don't carry everything in stock. I've dealt with this company for over ten years. Yes, I've had some orders delayed but they always come through with the merchandise.
Maybe it's time we stop comparing small online companies with Amazon and realize that not all of them have hundreds of employees.

Phone service is terrible, no one gets back to you. Hours of operation are still vague to me...Order was cancelled the same day they told me my item would be in soon and mailed out to me right away.

Try calling your bank. I called mine and they credited the money back into my account.
