Great service when it comes to sales and delivery. However when the turbo trainer doesn't work out of the box and i try to return it, i was told because it had been used it could not be exchange for another one, rather it had to go through warranty, so after spending over £300 on a turbo trainer i am now without one fro at least a couple of weeks, maybe more. “Xmas kids bike”

I had a very good experience ordering and buying the bike. The delivery was different though. Box was damaged. I rang the shop only to be told that I had to ring the head office which I did. The guy noted that the box was damaged and I had to check it as soon as possible. Not the service I would expect for just under £300 for a 5 year's old Xmas present. “Failed to outline potential bike issues”

Bought my Cannondale CAADX 105 2016 only 4 weeks ago, things went well until started getting creaking from the bottom bearing (uses the BB30). Looked online including Evans own reviews and found this to be a common problem. Bikes already been back once, tightened up but will need to go back again as its still noisy. “Disgrace ”

Phoned to ask would it be ok to bring my cycle to be assessed for a groupset change, On arrival bike was looked at and all was well,told give us a week and we will be in touch, Reasons for a week long was sickness and holidays,so agreed,week passes then I Received a call to say can't be changed due to rear wheel not compatible,all was well on day of arrival?so all the way back 60 miles in all this is my second trip,so decided to get a new wheelset instead,will think twice next time before… Read Full Review

“A little bit haphazard”

The service we had in store was very very good, but the delivery less so. We ordered two bikes and the build was quite different between two matching bikes. I ended up having to take one into a bike shop to have it looked at before I could ride it; things we had ordered were missing from the order, and then turned up unannounced so no one was here to collect. “Not the best service”

Staff were a little combative when we tried to pick up the bike at a time that we had pre arranged with them . The bike had a minor scratch on it and the headset was loose and needed tightening. Recently took delivery of a Fuji Road bike which was well priced by Evans. Finance facility available and easy to fund over 12 months which was needed. Generally good service - had to chase up a couple of items, but easy to track through very competent and friendly customer services. My 9nly issue has been with the bike build. Bought Pinnacle Lithium from Kingston store. Helpful at that stage in trying to choose most suitable model. Collected it a few days later. On second or third outing I first noticed back wheel rubbing against frame which seemed to right itself until one day about 3 weeks after purchase the back wheel actually came off. Bought some Campagnolo Zonda wheels from Evans last June and was advised from another bike shop the rear hub wasn't as smooth as it should be. Took bike to Evans for a check-up and the mechanic looked at it for no more than 20 seconds and said 'it's fine'. Can you honestly confirm that statement without looking at the bearings?! “Norco repair”

I have been really happy with the service I have received from Evans Cycles so far but, I recently needed a repair on my Norco fluid mountain bike and was disappointed to find the part required had to come from Norco in Canada, now that's a fair one but this has put me off the road/tracks for coming up to 3 weeks now. “Cross bike purchase made me cross ”

I recently purchased a cross bike from Evans Cycles in Manchester (chill factore store) but wasn't happy with the service I received. When I ordered the bike I told the store the brakes needed to be swapped around as I ride euro style brakes )I.e. Left brake lever controls front brake). When I picked the bike up the brakes were not swapped as I requested. It then took over 90 mins to swap brake levers. Purchased a new £800 bike but could not get booked into a Fix It course. Staff say they have no control over this as it is controlled by head office and it is all to do with budgets. There should be a Fix It workshop every 2nd Sunday at the Edinburgh store but it has now been a month since a Fix It event in Edinburgh. Evans don't normally let you down but neither do they excite. Friendly enough bunch and I have bought various products and services from them from time to time down the years but have bought far more from other vendors and there are a multitude of reasons for that including value, range and customer service. Went in to buy a new lamp - that time of year again. I chose one from the lighting display unit priced £13(and some pence), and took it to the counter. The assistant scanned it and said, "oh it's gone up now, it's £15 (and some pence), sorry about that". I said, "can you do that?", he replied, "afraid so". I would have asked for the manager and insisted that they charged the price advertised on the display as this is sloppy management in the shop, or the usual poor communication from head office to the shop.

If I had been serving you I would have made every effort to find you the price that matched, or beat that on the shelving then called the manager over.

Next time kick up a rumpus and do some research - find a price match with the companies that Evans Cycles matches with, (bottom of their website), and insist upon it being matched.

“Good service from store, let down by Night Freight...”

Excellent service from Margaret Street store in the West End - staff were knowledgeable and gave good advice for the type of riding I will be doing. I ordered the bike through the Ride 2 Work scheme, again, all went smoothly via web interaction and on the phone. Arranged to have it delivered to my home. A text and email tells you on the day your time slot, two hours AFTER the time slot begins. “Customer service and range lacking”

They never answer the phone when you try to ring. I was dealing with one member of staff, he went off to look into something, and then came back and helped another customer. leaving me at the till like a plum. Another member of staff came to help, and he didn't seem to be able to use the till, and had to wait for the original member of staff to finally come over to help. Ordered from Evans a bike bin and 2 bike covers. Very easy process to order online. Although I was sent emails and text messages the day before my goods were delivered they took a week to arrive. Delivery time could be improved but other than that Im happy. The bike covers aren't very good so will have to be sent back, so I will be testing out Evans returns policy too… Read Full Review

“Good, but aftersales could improve”

Overall, i am happy with Evans. The sales service and advice was great and stock availability and pricing is up there with the best. Aftersales wise however, there is much improvement required. My new bike was delivered with some small scratches on the head stock, which i was happy to live with, however, when the bike had it's first service, I aked the guy to see if he could polish them out and also look at an annoying squeak.
