Good Points: Virgin Media (VM) TV - As many channels as Sky (as you need). Unless you lost all your Sky channels when Branson and Murdoch fell out over loose change. Which if you were quite keen on 24 or other series, you might have been shaking your VM box and taking Branson's name in vain. VM Broadband - Fast, very good/pleased. Just seemed to get faster all the time. About half-way through VM uprated my tariff speed from 4MB to 8MB at no extra cost. Phone Package - Average

Bad Points: Phone Package - don't make too many calls to mobiles or 08- numbers or you'll know about it.Customer Services - When I attempted to leave, they made a real show of grovelling (but sadly not enough)Cost - NTL provided a fairly reasonable service for their money, until Virgin took over and it seemed as though Branson needed to make money fast and I felt it month by increasing month.

General comments: I write this review having now dispensed with Virgin Media services and do not feel as bitter as I once did...but still fairly irritated.I joined NTL in 2006 who were then bought by Virgin by the end of 2007. The main thrust of my irritation stems from paying a monthly bill of £35 in 2007 to a staggering £90 bill by the end of 2008, with little change to subscriptions/services.What really gets my goat is when I contacted customer services to cancel the contract, they actually made a conscious effort to treat me like a customer followed by what can only be described as grovelling and 'by making amends to you sir' slashing my monthly charges in half before my very ears. Disgusting...I lost all respect for the adviser and Virgin Media. I must hasten to add that the slashing was not deep enough compared to what I am paying now with VM's biggest rival. Plus I can watch all my Sky channels with no sudden interruptions.
