What a waste of a nice location, the artwork at the tate gallery st ives was awful and really pretentious... I wish I had kept the leaflet I picked up when I went in because some of the phrasing was cringeworthy.
Agreed with others comments on the staff too, impolite and snobbish... even the cashier.
Worst £5 we spent on out visit, save your cash and visit the galleries in town... free and better quality.

I visited this museum on a Sunday,in summer, considering the hype, there were no queues, which I found suspicious, The building seems sadly out of place in a Cornish seaside town. I entered, expecting to find modern art by local artists, instead there was a series of childish drawings, a room with a perspex box and two 8mm cine projectors, a room with some blue (coloured) sayings painted on the walls and ceilings, some pale abstact art that would be quite pleasing in my dentists waiting room, and ...- Read Guest's review (113 words)

We were disappointed with the lack of information about the art being displayed, the paintings had no title or artist, upon leaving we found a few tatty bits of paper with a floor plan. The Staff there were horrible, unfriendly, it seems visitors to the Tate St Ives are an utter inconvenience, one member of staff actually shouted a ...- Read oldkittbag's review (111 words)

Visited the Tate in St. Ives in October 2007 with a group of fellow artists. The gallery itself was an interesting space, with an unconventional exterior. The exhibition on display was not very interesting to me, it was about geometric shapes which were ok to look at. The visiting display was much more interesting, the installations were amusing and quite interactive. I did enjoy the Tate overall and would definitely visit again when I am in the area. Not all the displays were to my liking b ...- Read mrskermode's review (112 words)
