Good Points: Reasonable price back in 1974 compared to japanese stuff .Design goes back to mid 1950`s,1974 was one of the last of this very stylish ,somewhat DanDare look, with semi automatic clutch ,almost a work of art on two wheels in my eyes.Meet loads of people who ask questions about the bike-Great all round fun in a slow`ish kind of way.Nice Czech built bike as one would expect from eastern europe

Bad Points: About 10 years behind japanese bikes in 1974.Slow top speed, oily two stroke engine, first gear ratio could have been better-too short.,there again you can start off in third gear at a push without it stalling.

General comments: I love this bike and have riden the thing for 18 years(i`m the third owner) it has been wonderfully reliable -only broke down once and that was a fuse/fuse holder, done 47000 miles without a rebore only a couple of piston ring changes!!!It may have only 4 gears but it only needs 4 gears because the torque is good at 14 hp @ about 5000 rpm. These bikes tended to cosmetically deteriorate fairly quickly but reach a state when they seem to stop-out with the old paint brush and all is well again. The chrome was the worse, still never mind as i don`t expect anything else would`ve faired better. What i like about it is that it is simple, you do not need to be a highly trained mechanic to keep it going with a one cylinder,2 stroke engine life maybe slow but it is easy to keep it going and cheaply too-oh happy days compared to todays high tech expensive to run stuff.I have to admit the old girls getting a bit worn out now but i`ll keep her going without spending stupid sums of dosh on a proper restoration which i`ve never been into and when the time does come and the crank goes i`ll retire her to the shed-she dies with me which may well be sooner rather than later for the both of us!
