General comments: My experience with Countrywide has been characterised by incompetence. Insurance is the business of managing risk, and I would say that putting yours in their hands is one of the biggest risk you could take. Highlights:1. Insurance arranged by a countrywide mortgage adviser within an estate agent before moving house, assuring me it will all happen automatically when I move house (nice for a 1st time buyer). Agent then moves positions within the company, leaves no instructions to successor - result: i'm not insured for several weeks.2. When changing policy I ask them in writing to cancel the old one. After acknowledging the letter, it isn't cancelled - result: i pay for an insurance policy i didn't need and they refuse to refund the money.3. I ask them to cancel 2 policies on a certain date as I'm moving house. They cancel the policies - one two weeks early, the other a week and a half early (how could I move house on 2 different days) - result: I'm not insured for 1.5-2 weeks. The purpose of insurance is to manage the big financial risks in your life.
