Good Points: Capable of making Filter, Espresso and frothy Cappucino at under £200. Apparently...
Bad Points: Started to disintegrate within months, died at 13 months. While it was working, the frothing nozzle was useless anyway.
General comments: Bought originally from John Lewis in December 2006, it made good filter coffee, and espresso, but the froth making nozzle always seems a bit pathetic, failing to froth milk to any discernable degree.
In fact, shaking the milk container did a better job...
After a few months, the fascia around the hotplate started flaking away in chunks, and then the on/off button LED failed, so it was hard to tell if it was on or off.
The coffee jug always dribbled as I poured, unless I was very very careful. What a pain, as my last machine, a £29 Morphy Richards didn't do this unless I was very hasty.
Overall, I was very underwhelmed with the longevity of this machine and would never buy another Krups again. I understand the later version was no better according to other 'net reviews, and mine was typical too.
A £29 machine would have done a better job (My old one still is...)
