The Krups FEM 231 Toast Expert is easy to use, lots of adjustments including frozen bread option and quick release button. Looks good, quality build, includes warming rack and wide slots. Clever idea that there is the feature to raise toast etc higher with the adjustable lever, avoids small bread etc having to be levered out. Bought online, delivery very quickly. Gives a good even colour to bread. East to clean. (read more)

The Krups FEM 231 Toast Expert was featured on Channel 5's Gadget Show by Suzi Perry on the toaster challenge, in which it came third (based on a test of quickness, durability, and taste of toast). It came with a kettle as a bundle and the two look seriously cool. This was purchased as a "poser item" rather than for conventional use, but has lots of useful functions and costs a hell of a lot less than the competing Siemens range. (read more)
