Good Points: Washes well, reasonably quiet, easy to operate, good guarantee.

Bad Points: Not a problem for me: but it is not only deeper at about 64.5mm than the old machine one might be replacing (check the depth of you worktop!), but the rear panel protrudes a lot into this dimension and it might be difficult to site piping etc. without rearranging it.

General comments: Compared this with other machines also made by Electrolux (AEG & Zanussi) and preferred the style of this JLWM1407. Also, John Lewis will delivery to remote Scotland (worthy of consideration as local shops quoted between £60 and £80 'to get it home').Does what one wants from a washing machine whilst being acceptably quiet (very quiet during washing part of cycle and spin not too loud compared to many machines), taking a reasonable load, and having very clear functions for the operating controls. Comes with a three-year guarantee and seems quite well made. Like many newer machines, has a good-sized loading porthole that is disabled-friendly.
