I was looking to change my car and we called into the Car People at their Wakefield Depot. There was plenty of choice in my price range.The staff let you get on with looking no pressure,they are there to answer any queries. When I asked to look at the car in more detail the car was opened and details where given and questions answered. When we said we wanted this car we where taken to customer friendly show room, and the options where given to us and we choose the option best suited to us. A pick up time was arranged for the car,and they very informative and helpful. Keeping me up to date on my drive away insurance and progress with finance. On picking the car up the paperwork was explained and we had the chance to read through it and ask questions,they where answered to our satisfaction.The car was immaculate and I drove away a very happy customer. If you want to buy a car I would highly recommend the car people you get a large choice, helpful staff when you require them, and you will drive away happy and want to go back.

“Autofinders have been great ... they were let down by...”

Autofinders have been great ... they were let down by Chevrolet a while back. Anyway, have never had any problems with them - they provide a great service, and are amongst the cheapest around - even recommended by moneysavingexpert.com!

Thank you for taking the time to review our website, and we appreciate your praising words. As you said, we did have a problem with Chevrolet supply on 23 vehicles. Unfortunatley this was no fault of our own and completley unforseen and we spent many hours trying to resolve this. We cannot comment or share with anyone the exact outcome of this, we were made to sign a confidentiality clause- (says it all really) We lost a lot of money as a business, and 11 unhappy customers (12 customers believed our integrity and chose alternate vehicles). We are pleased that you are happy with your new car and the service recieved and thank you once more for taking the time to leave us a positive review. Many thanks Autofinders staff

“They were quick to process my order for a chevrolet...”

They were quick to process my order for a chevrolet matiz and took the deposit of £500 immediately, over the telephone. This was 18 jan 09, the car should haven been ready by end of february. Had to chase the order up a few times early march, not given any information. Received a letter 4th march from Auto finders informing me that Chevrolet had withdrawn their cars at the agreed price, and that I could either get a different car or cancel the order or telephone Chevroltet direct. I had to put it in writing as they couldn.t accept it via email as they needed a signature. Basically I rang chevrolet and the reason they withdrew their offer, was because the pricing was based for business customers only, and they got wind that this wasn't the case. To receive the car it would have cost me another £1000 I was not prepared to do that. So I went back to Autofinder to see what car they could supply within my price range , sorry I was told they were having difficulties getting hold of any small cars. So left me with no option other than getting my deposit back. I wrote to them immediately, I was told they would refund as soon as they got my letter. A week later phoned up again they had received my letter and would refund it . Following day rang again as it had not been refunded, was told it will be done today by 4pm 100% certainty. It still has not been refunded, I would not deal with this company. I can confirm that the above is based on my own experience with this company. Its bad enough being let down with the non existent supply of my vehicle, but is completely out of order for them to hang onto my deposit. They have made up alot of excuses because of their cash flow problems in my opinion.and I have experienced a service that falls way beyond my expectations!

It is a real shame that as a company we were unable to obtain a number of the vehicles that we pre ordered. Unfortunatly due to legal reasons we are unable to comment on this matter any further, with the exception of this particular reviewers comments in relation to deposit refund.

<br/>We can confirm that all requests from all customers for their deposit refunds have been carried out. Due to the UK banking process, these can take up to 3 working days to show in a customer account- that is the banking process with the merchant facility machines and nothing we can influence. We are very surprised that Chevrolet have chosen to disclose any part of this information, and as stated earlier, due to legal reasons we are unable to comment further.
<br/>
<br/>Any request to cancel an order contract has to be put in writing, just as an order is confirmed in the same way, we simply cannot accept an e amail or phone call to do this, as we need to ensure we are in communication with the person who has entered into a contract.
<br/>
<br/>We can confirm that as a business we are not "holding on to any ones money", to quote this reviewers words, and totally refute this allegation and comments made.

Hi roberti, thank you for your comments. It isnt as straight forward as that, this situation has gone legal so I cannot comment but we were forced to follow certain procedures to ensure everything was done in the correct manner.
<br/>
<br/>The letters that were sent didnt state that we couldnt supply the vehicles, they actually stated that we didnt have a confirmed delivery date for the vehicles so we offered all the customers a choice of waiting, an alternative vehicle or a refund.
<br/>
<br/>Most customers chose an alternate vehicle, but some requested to cancel their orders. To terminate a contract it is required to have signed documentation, just as it is to enter one. This was requested in the initial letter and as soon as any request was recieved in writing this was done.
<br/>
<br/>This was outside of the legal binding contractual terms and as soon as we found out that there was a problem we informed every customer.
<br/>
<br/>This situation is in the hands of our solicitors so cannot comment in any way on the content of this, except that our company lost an awfull lot of money due to this situation completley out of our control
<br/>

If Autofinders are not in the business of holding onto people's money then why didn't they refund the deposit as soon as they knew Chevrolet had refused to supply the cars? This could have happened weeks before the actual date they sent their letter on 4 March 2009. And by 20 March thats life had not recieved his money!

Low cost was my incentive to purchase a car from Autofinders ltd however I would never do so again.

I feel that car purchasers have more guarantees of good service and adequate resolution of errors from recognised main dealer than a small internet company. The wrong specification was delivered with inadequate solutions provided by the company.

The finance documents had three errors, two of which of monetary value.

The servicing package arrived 4month later despite following this matter up with both the company and the manufacturer. However with the wrong name and address on the documents.

The car had been registered in another name and address despite the advertising stating the purchaser would be 1st owner.

<br/>We are aware of this customer and would like to respond as follows:

<br/>1. As a company we NEVER accept the final payment for the car until each customer has recieved and fully inspected the car. This is well doscumented and a procedure in which we adhere to 100% which gives the customer peace of mind when making such a large transaction
<br/>
<br/>2. This customer, who we know who has written this review, fully inspected her vehicle before paying for it. The car was EXACTLY as described in the brochure and excatly what she ordered. If the car was wrong, then we have to question why someone would actually pay over &pound;5000 for something that wasnt what they wanted. This customer assumed something rather than got 100% accurate facts.
<br/>
<br/>3. As a business, we did have a lot of problems with our suppliers for this vehicle, who issue warranty and servicing documents, some of these problems were down to the innacuracy of the data that was set up by our supplier and caused incorrect information to appear on documents. As a company we no longer deal with this supplier partly as a result of this situation.
<br/>
<br/>Whilst we appreciate that everyone is entitled to their opinion, we too have the right to defend such commenst, which are factually untrue.
<br/>
<br/>To refer to the question, why would someone pay over &pound;5000 after inspected their goods if they were wrong?

Staff were great, helped with every question & query that I had. Saved £2500 on the prices & got the same car (But with the options I wanted, but couldn't afford!!!) Great place to deal with, will buy again !!! The only thing I will do different is, I will have a weekend in Bakewell at the same time!

Really pleased with all the service from Autofinders. Save a bundle on what I had been quoted from the main dealer. Yes the car registered to Autofinders first but this has no bearing on the resale of the vehicle and with what I saved it really didn't matter. Very pleased.

Very pleasant, helpful and courteous, even when chasing a blip over RTI Gap Insurance several months later. Their advice on purchase was excellent and they weren't pushing one particular brand or model. There was no pressure whatsoever. They just wanted me to get the car that was right for my needs and correctly advised me to cancel my first order because it wouldn't have been suitable for towing a trailer. Once the order was placed, everything was just like buying from a dealer. The timing was fine and they kept me informed throughout of the progress. Because I live relatively near, it was easy to collect from the pristine showroom in Bakewell and subsequently there were no hidden catches or problems with getting the car serviced under warranty with the main dealer where I live - and I had saved £2000. I would thoroughly recommend this business and will certainly be looking to source my wife's car there when we need to replace it.

Great Price on 407SW saved on dealer price, Arrived a bit later than expected and had to chase to get latest update. Staff pleasant and helpful. Good Prices, great selection, I would not have minded if they had told me it was preregistered, just feel a bit miffed.

Autofinders ltd specilaise in supplying reduced price vehicles to business users and public alike. In certain cases manufacturers insist that the vehicles are registered to our company the day before the car is ready, in order to activate the high level of dicsounts of up to &pound;8000+ on showroom prices. This is something we make completley clear on our website. With regards the comment regarding the log book (V5) document, we have no record of any customer in this situation. Autofinders Ltd send all documentation either with the car if available or by post as soon as it arrives with us.

“I ordered a brand new Skoda and was told it would be...”

I ordered a brand new Skoda and was told it would be brand new registered to me as 1st owner and would take 12 weeks to come. I collected my new car on March 1st and drove it away from their showroom. Showroom was full of cars and looked the part filling me and my wife with confidence in what we bought. We were given documents from DVLA confirming car was registered in My name as 1st owner. The staff were really helpful and kept me updated all the way. The car was actually ready 2 weeks before estimated (ordered it in January) and was fantastically presented inside ready for me to drive away- with a Bakewell pudding as a gift!

Bought a car from AutoFinders on the phone, car was 3 months later than stated, I was told it was brand new but having chased and chased my log book which took 7 months to arrive I was the 2nd owner!
