I can send money to Philippines from my iPhone in less than 30 seconds since I set it up. The app does exactly what it needs to do. It saves previous sends so it is just a couple clicks to do it again. I can send to a person there or a bank account there instantly and they have always received the money almost instantly. I use Xoom.com whenever I need to send money to India, they have greatly improved over the past years to provide excellent service. Unfortunately I can only send money to my relatives, and not to my accounts, or to religious Org's due to regulations. As an suggstion for improvement;Recently, I have not been able to use my international credit cards for online transactions, on indian websites and it would be great if we could use Xoom to pay for these transactions. The only thing worries me, bank account verification is not provided with xoom. Anyone who has my bank details could add account and use the same to transfer money. (read more)

Its just unbelievable that for a customer to verify transaction you will have to send your latest billing statement and a copy of your last tax return! Its not like i am sending hundreds and thousands of dollars. You make us look like we are bad people. I was amazed at the treatment and all the questions they ask. My roommate even asked if I was dealing with the IRS! Ultimately they said they would not accept my account because I wanted to make a charitable donation (to the poor in Costa Rica) Sounds like discrimination to me! THEN she said they would not refund my transaction fee when I said to just cancel it since they could not do it. She said they would not. BEWARE - they ask way to many personal questions!!! I like all the features Xoom has on its website. The money transfer is fast. A suggestion would be to introduce an app for iPhone an android devices. Which makes money transfer more faster. Another critic would be restricting multiple transfer on a same day for second transaction. I suggest that could have been informed to the user as an alert that, since it is a second transaction it will be audited. Would you like to continue?? With relatives that live in other countries sending money to them can be expensive and unreliable, but not with Xoom.com! I love that it only costs $4.99 to send any amount of money to almost any country. I love that I have the option to send it to a relatives bank account or they can pick it up, from one of the many banks Xoom does transactions with, in cash. Super Fast Transfer! Last transfer was amazing... I started the transfer at 10.30pm PST and credit received at 9.30am PST next day... Rate is pretty okay now-a-days... but is a bit less (20-30 cents) when compared to SBI. XOOM (Transfer Speed + Rate + Fixed Rate) > SBI(Transfer Speed + Rate) I always transfer above $1000 i.e $1001 to avoid transfer fees :) (read more)

Once you get it set up, Xoom is so easy and fast. Generally transfers hit my UK account from the US in minutes. The transfer fee of $4.99 is way lower than my bank charges and xoom typically has a better exchange rate too. Its a bit of a pain to get set up initially but thats the nature of the financial transaction market I guess and it actually gives me comfort that the security is well placed. Good service.
