    Good Points: Suspenseful

Bad Points: Shaky camera work; seemed to end in the middle of the story. Frustrating!

General comments: This movie was suspenseful, however, the shaky camera work was irritating. This movie had great potential, but it was only about an hour and a half and seemed to end in the middle of the story. When the credits started rolling, it definitely left me with a lot of unanswered questions. That may work for a series such as "Lost" (which I love), but it doesn't work for a movie.

Special effects are great, the creature is unique. Love the creatures, hated the movie. Blair witch film copycat. script is terrible. Didn't end right.

I didn't go into this movie with high expectations. I just wanted a good ride. It certainly delivered that. Any bad criticism I gave was just from an observational stand point and certainly didn't affect the way I thought of the film. I thoroughly enjoyed this film. I am a sucker for happy endings so I was disappointed that almost all the kids died in the film. Still, every now and then I watch a film that ends unhappy and I am completely OK with it. Especially when I am prepared for that. The i ...

Great story line, great graphics, great acting finished with a shocking ending, with a side dish or blood & guts & headachy camera movement. It was good and I recommend anyone to watch it who is over 12 at least because it was pretty horrible at parts.

I really didn't enjoy this film at all, its all over the place and you cant see what's going on though most of the film, and i so didn't like how the film ended! I was really looking forward to watching the film but i wont be watching it again thats for sure! Couldnt see what was happening and gave me a headache. Not a good film at all!

The film wasn't really a good success because it was too far fetched. I understand that it's just a film and it has monsters in and all but no one would be a able too film that long with out the armed forces taking the camera off them, also when his battery dies on his phone he gets a new one that happens to fully charged, the film doesn't really have a point for example most films have say something happening then an explanation then a ending this just started with a guy's camera then a monster ...

I watched Cloverfield last night after hearing so much about it. The first reason that attracted me to it was the fact that it was written by the creator of Lost. After hearing so many bad things about it though like people being sick whilst watching due to motion sickness I was slightly put off. I needn't of been, it was excellent, lots to keep you entertained and glued to your seat. The story was pretty fast moving after the first 25 mins, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend it to a ...

For my Cloverfield review I can honestly say I really don't know what to make of the movie as I neither loved it or hated it. On one hand; the plot was one dimensional, the story undeveloped and the ending somewhat blunt, but then on the other hand it was a truly original piece of film making and one should not expect anything more from a movie shot from a single camera in this manner. Basically, events are shown first hand through the eyes of a group experiencing the devastation caused by a hug ...

Cloverfield is almost a hybrid of Blair Witch and Godzilla, which, although it may sound pretty cheesy, is actually very good. A possible contender for one of the best films of the year.

The whole movie sucked. Only the explosions and action and actually seeing the monster were the only good bits. It bored the hell out of me. Please, America. Leave the city-destroying-out-of-this-world monsters to the Japanese. Please.

I can see why some people may be disappointed by this film as the plot basically consists of the main characters trying to get away from a monster, however I thought it was really well made. A far cry from those films of the same ilk - Godzilla, King Kong etc; Cloverfield is a harrowing depiction of fear in the face of destruction and in parts I actually forgot that it was a fictional monster that they were trying to run away from. This is mostly owing to the fact that the movie is shot from a s ...

What is the point? The most talked about part of the film is the hugely annoying and unnecessary way it was recorded and filmed, this is not for those who suffer from travel sickness or have trouble with inner ear balance.....go and watch another film.....but not Sweeney Todd........boy is that a let down as well!

Cloverfield is a very interesting film, really pulls you in and leaves you wanting to see more. Overall film is well presented and entwined. Got a lot going for it. Good the way they tried to film it differently.

I don't usually watch thrillers but this film was intriguing enough for me to go to the cinema. I was not disappointed. I was gripped from start to finish, as was the rest of the audience, who were silent throughout. I'm not going to give a synopsis because I believe you will enjoy the film more if you don't know what to expect. Just believe me when I say this is a high quality production. I had seen the trailer recently online, and I think it revealed too much, so avoid it if you can. Jus ...

The cinema is the place to see this film because of the effects and the vibrations which you get when sitting in your seat. Wasn't going to see Cloverfield as thought the trailer looked rubbish but after a few people raved about it i thought i would give it a shot. Bit far fetched for my liking with the big alien monster thing and the film just really did not go anywhere.

I have never been to the cinema where everyone - and I mean everyone, left without saying anything apart from negative comments. The most frequent comments we noted were "What a waste of time", "We've been stitched-up..." and "We could have seen Sweeney Todd instead, wish we had".... There was a palpable sense of loss. A valuable lesson in hype and why one shouldn't believe in it.

Just got back from the cinema. Didn't really connect with the characters, didn't care if they died or not. I thought Rob the main character was meant to be intelligent - just got a VP job, but he makes stupid decisions and he friends and the authorities let him get away with it - all for love. The jerky hand held approach and flashing lights caused me to come out of the cinema with a head ache and I vomited I can only put this down to the effects as I feel fine now. Good effects, sort of scary m ...

It had me jumping in places, but I actually didn't find myself caring for the characters, I mean we're half way through the film the women are being ran all over the city, through the metro tunnels and shes still wearing her gold high heel party shoes! Plus the camera had a good battery life of about 8 hours despite them filming none stop, using the light and the night vision. Didn't care for the love story either.

Superb, terrifying and intense!!! You gotta see this movie. The handheld camera makes it all the more gritty and personal. Seems a bit slow to start, but hang in there and it's all out action in New York city as a group of friends, whose party was rudely interrupted by a monster attacking the city, document their quest for survival. Definitely would recommend it, if you only see one film this year make it Cloverfield.
