“Helpful and friendly staff”

Panicked when I saw that the tickets for Edinburgh Tattoo could arrive up to the week before the event as I would be travelling and unable to receive them or have them with me for the event. Staff helpful but would not be able to contact the event ticket distributors until nearer the time. Later, I had an email and managed to re-arrange sending to a PO box en route. “MILITARY TATTOO IN EDINBURGH CASLTE..2014”

What impressed me the most was how smoothly receiving my ticket went. I was out of the country and so would not have been home to receive my ticket so it was delivered to the hotel AND it was actually there when I arrived. My seat was actually very good. A dinner was included at a very nice hotel and I anticipated that it would kind of be " cocktail" format. “RyanAir-like practices”

Beware, use this site only if you like hidden charges and poor customer  service. They quote ticket prices excluding Get Me In's various charges, which in  my case were not fully revealed until late in the ordering process, and  which turned out to be more than 25% on top. I tried searching the  site's FAQs etc. but nowhere do they state how much the processing and  delivery charges are, so it seems the only way to find out is to try  buying tickets and then see what happens!… Read Full Review

We do everything we can to make sure the pricing is transparent, as it’s important to us that you make an informed decision. There’s just a two-click process from the time you select the tickets to seeing the total price you’ll be required to pay – this is before we ask for any of your personal or payment details. There’s also a fee calculator shown at the bottom of the venue map before you decide to check out.

The delivery charge isn’t specified in advance as this can vary depending on whether the delivery address is in the UK or overseas. Tickets are frequently not in hand with the seller at the time of listing as ticket printing times vary between primary tickets agencies. We can see however that your tickets were dispatched within days of placing your order with your seller.

We’ve taken special care to ensure that all ticket restrictions are displayed at the time of listing and a check with our IT department confirms this. We’re really surprised to hear this, nevertheless as a gesture of goodwill, you have been given the option for a full refund on return of your tickets. We’ve checked our records and can see that your email was responded to within 24 hours so we are sorry if you felt that your query was not important to us – far from it. We value your comments and appreciate feedback like yours that highlight any way that we can improve our service to our customers.

Not doing anything wrong exactly, but the high processing fee they add is *not* VAT on the ticket. Because you might well think it was from the way it is presented.

The way I read it, they charge VAT on the ticket, plus postage, plus a buyer's fee which seems to me to be pretty much standard practice for all ticket agencies.
After reading your comments I thought I had mis- read something, but I don't think I have.

No, looking at the VAT figures on the invoice I got it appears there is no VAT charged on the ticket (presumably as Get Me In is not 'selling' the ticket, just handling the money on behalf of the ticket owner).

But it is not presented in a clear way in my opinion.

It all looks pretty clear to me. After you click on the "buy" button you can see the order details which show the cost of the tickets and the processing fee which includes 20% VAT. The only thing not included is the postage which I am guessing cannot be calculated until you add an address.
I can't exactly see what they are doing wrong.

..me again! Just a word about delivery. The site doesn't actually say you will be able to CHOOSE a method. It says the price depends on which method is available (I.e. Decided by Getmein).

This was far from clear (I tried 3 times), and the large delivery charge wasn't stated in the FAQs either. The only way to discover it was to try buying tickets and see what figure is added when you're about to pay.

I.e. just the kind of 'drip pricing' tactic condemned by the Office of Fair Trading.

If you didn't find that clear, then fair enough - although I found it crystal clear. The only thing not listed on the sales page is the cost of posting the tickets, and that will depend on where they have to go, so that has to be added AFTER you put in your address. Everything else is listed on the first page you come to when you click on buying the tickets. Don't think you can compare that to Ryanair who add another charge on each page.

“Excessive payment time”

I recently sold some tickets through Getmein and although I am happy with the selling side of the transaction I am very disappointed with the length of time they withhold payment. I appreciate they have to hold it for some time to ensure the sale went through ok and the buyers were happy with the purchase but surely 10 working days after the event is far too much time to hold on to the money. What worries me equally is that they now say they will TRY to make payment 2 weeks after the event… Read Full Review

We try to issue payment within 10 working days after the event, providing the tracking information's accurate, this is so that we can maintain a secure marketplace making sure that the buyer has successfully attended the event and giving us time to investigate if any issues do arise.

Today I had the worst customer service experience of my life with getmein, I cannot emphasise how unhelpful and tricking the customer service personnel have been to dissuade me from raising a complaint and getting my tickets back after I asked where they were and was told they were lost. Hi,

Thank you for your feedback and I’m really sorry to hear that your tickets were lost by UPS. We’ve looked into your order and it does appears that tracking information stops somewhere after Barking. When you contacted our call centre, one of our team already raised a tracer with UPS which initiated an investigation on your package.

Our disputes team will keep a watchful eye on the progress of your package. Generally we allow UPS up to 8 working days to complete their findings but most times they find the package well before then and can deliver it onto you safely. And if it gets to 3 business days before the event we will immediately arrange for you to receive a refund or you can use it as a credit to find suitable replacements of your choice.

But we do kindly ask you to allow UPS to try to find the package first – as the tracer was raised yesterday, please check your UPS tracking number and you can already see that they’re looking into your shipment. We shall be in touch with you with an update in the coming days.

I had never purchased on Get Me In before so was a bit sceptical but really wanted the tickets on offer so gave it a try and was delighted with the outcome. Eeels was simply excellent. The conneciton with ther audience was real. The production was near studio quality with the added extravagance of feeling personal. I recently bought a ticket for the opening performance of Monty Python live, and I live in another country. I accidentally got it mail to the wrong address, which happened to be the neighbour. I let the neighbour know that I was expecting a package, since it was too late to renter the address. “Brill night had by all”

Everything went as planned, the L G arena atmosphere was electric, terrific seats, the bands were Brill and everyone had a great time,highly recommended.
