Good Points: Not well known! A good secret! Small and intimate. Pat (chef) is a train buff, so you are surrounded by train paraphenalia, including a model railway!

Bad Points: Small. Cannot take larger parties. Will not accept more than 12 covers per session.

General comments: Excellent and friendly welcome from the castle kitchen. Beautiful food, well cooked from a decent menu. The pudding list is to die for! Most ingredients sourced locally and all cooked on the premises.
Ask to hear the pudding menu, even if you are not having one!

Small and friendly, The Castle Kitchen in Cilgerran run by a couple.Every dish is superb, and this means I don't care that the menu is limited. If there was a single dish on it, I'd happily go to eat it.Service is calm and friendly - as if you are a welcome visitor in someone's home, rather than a paying customer. Quite simply, I think this is the best restaurant I've ever eaten in - and I wish it was near home, instead of a few miles from a holiday cottage my wife and I visit occasionally. ...
