2010 Specialized Roubaix Expert - fork sheared-off while riding - very unnerving. Don't trust your life to cheap carbon forks. see http://flic.kr/p/8T86SZ
This is no joke - see the photo. This bike is unsafe at any speed.

The Specialized Roubaix Pro is a great all rounder...I live in Chamonix and head straight up the big hills on mine.Lowest gear is just about low enough for the climbs. It does creak ie makes a bit of noise which can be annoying but only when climbing. On the flats and downhill it really comes into its own. It will free wheel at 60+ kmhr. The zertz make a big difference smoothing out the bumps.
This really is a great bike for the coin.

I wanted a bike that would cover all road riding duties from the quick 20 mile, through the club run and onto audax/sportif rides or longer tours. The Pro is superb in all of these roles - especially the longer distance rides. The riding position may not be the best for shorter runs and time trials - I will be trying it out on these during 2009 though.
The overall finish of the bike is excellent and it shows all the signs of being a long termer :-)
I also had a 'creaky' bike as per the reviewer above. I thought it was the frame or crank, as it sounded like it was from there. It turned out to be the seat/seatpost fixing, which had not been greased on the cups during assembly (this is recommended by Specialized). As soon as I traced it and greased the cups, all of the creaking went away.

I really like this bike. I started riding 3 years ago with a Tricross Comp and before that had a Lemond Buenes Aires that I only rode 3-4 times a year. I live in Denver, CO and my primary ride of the year is a 3-day, 50 mi/day charity ride in the mountains with plenty of climbing. I am a bit concerned about having a compact crank up front. But otherwise I love this bike except for one thing. It creaks. Sounds like stress-related creaks in the frame. But when I discuss this with my bike shop the don't appear concerned. I am. Is carbon fiber supposed to do that? I just finished a 50 mile ride today with hundreds of other bikes and I didn't hear any creaking coming out of them. Anyway, other than that I really like this bike. Incidently I upgraded the wheels to Mavic Rsys.

Can't really fault it, but before you go out a buy one, check out aluminium or steel framed bikes.

I have had my roubaix for a number of months and absolutely love it,.it's level of comfort has to be experienced to appreciate,it handles superbly and rolls along at pace with ease, sometimes i think it's a little high on the front end but then if it was lower then the comfort may be compromised and it would'nt be a roubaix,if you are thinking of buying a roubaix i would recommend it very highly, mine has a chorus 10 speed group with mavic kysrium sl wheels.
