“Paid for seats but got standing only”

★★☆☆☆

written by Arnoldcm224 on 26/09/2017

Given incorrect tickets in the standing area when I paid for seats so had to re-sell and buy from another site. inconvenient and misrepresenting but got there in the end no thanks to Seatwave. Should send correct tickets if it is a company actually approved by Ticketmaster. Be aware of this when thinking of using this site as it can be difficult to know what you're getting and they also add charges to the bill.

“No sign of replacement tickets (2 days before concert)”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 27/04/2017

I bought 2 tickets for this Saturday's (29/04/2017) Ed Sheeran concert in Birmingham. The order number is 1918639. The tickets were purchased on the seatwave website in February and the total cost was in excess of 1000 pounds. Upon securing the tickets, we immediately booked our flights to Birmingham (from Italy) as well as car hire at the airport. Last week I received an e-mail stating that the tickets would be posted by the seller to me and that there was nore need to contact seatwave should they not arrive for a few days. I began to become worried at the start of this week when there was still no sign of the tickets. Only after calling seatwave last night was I informed that the seller had missed the cut off time and that the tickets might not arrive. I was, however, assured on the phone that, in any case, seatwave would provide us with replacement etickets at least as good as the original ones. However, after calling them again this morning, they have changed their tune, saying that they are looking for replacement tickets but that there is no guarantee that they will find them! They have said that if the worst comes to the worst they will give us a refund. This is frankly very poor form. We have made it clear to them in no uncertain terms that we want replacement tickets at least as good as the original ones. A simple refund is totally unacceptable since we booked well in advance, have been eagerly awaiting the concert for months and have booked flights from Italy to see it. If sellers can't be trusted, seatwave should have reserve tickets so that fans are not left disappointed. I'm still hopeful that seatwave will honour its commitment and come up with the replacements. Either way, I shall keep readers updated.

I booked X Factor tickets in November and paid close to £200 in total but the tickets were close to the stage so went for it. Concert was on 25th Feb on 21st Feb I was very concerned I hadn't received the tickets. I tried calling and emailing but got no reply in the end I went on Facebook account and messaged them via messenger. Within 24 hours I had my tickets and they were even better than I thought. So all in all a very happy daughter means very happy experience

“Don't buy from them”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Marco10 on 22/11/2016

Brought 3 tickets, £120 each. Rang 3 times as tickets weren't available. Offered a 30% reduction to change row. Refunded £29 per ticket. Tickets arrived, £59.95......?! Seatwave gave some 'blurb' about seller... 'The ticket prices do not always indicate the best location at the venue, as great seats have also been known to sell below face value. Prices are set set by the seller depending on the current market rate and how much they want to receive per ticket.' If you want to get ripped off use Seatwave....

written by Samb0203 on 21/07/2016

Seatwave is the worse on-line ticket platform. I didn't receive my tickets to my hotel in Amsterdam so I changed the address to the next hotel in order to allow a few more days for the tickets to arrive. Meanwhile I sent queries, emails and tried to call them but in vain. On the day of the match we even drove to the stadium hoping for a miracle, but nothing. Only after approaching Paypal did I get my money back a month later. They take 0 liability for their poor "customer service". Beware!

“NEVER USE SEATWAVE”

★☆☆☆☆

written by stereopumpkin on 16/06/2016

I bought 2 tickets from Seatwave in December 2015 for a concert on 14/6/2016 170 miles from our home. One week before the concert the tickets had still not arrived. Contacting them was a nightmare,-phone on endless hold, useless FAQs and no response to email for days. They took my £243.97 back in December.Someone eventually phoned on the morning of the concert to say there were no tickets by which time we had travelled to the venue and missed the deadline by a matter of hours for obtaining a refund on our prepaid accommodation. Appalling business practice and customer service. I am taking them to Money Claim Online (Small Claims Court). They tell you that you have bought tickets but in fact they are just gambling with your money.

“feel very disappointed”

★★☆☆☆

written by andihud on 07/06/2016

I ordered four tickets for Coldplay in November 2015 and they only arrived 3 days before the event in June 2016. I received an e mail two weeks before the concert telling me that there was a problem with the promoter and that the tickets may even arrive on the day before the concert, which considering I had bought the tickets for a birthday present had me really worried. The tickets had a face value of £45 each and I paid just over £100 per ticket-that is some mark up. I understand the need to make a profit but over 100% is in my opinion unethical and smacks of greed. It should be made clearer exactly what the mark will be rather than just vaguely stating that the face value of the ticket will differ from what you pay. I feel very disappointed and will definitely never purchase from Seatwave again nor recommend them to anybody-lesson learned

“Daylight Robbery”

written by Roth97 on 17/04/2016

I was so desperate to buy tickets for Jeff Lynne, which came out at 9am, 13 Nov 2015, that I didn't realise I had come off the site I wanted to purchase from, and had been directed to Seatwave. I bought the tickets within 10 minutes of them being available, and paid £150 each, with an astonishing £70 admin fee plus £10 postage. What I received, was 2nd hand tickets which cost £50 each with a £5 admin fee. I have been ripped off. I only hope that when I go to the concert tomorrow, they will let me in.

“Terrible customer service ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Sharpys149 on 11/04/2016

I had a terrible experience buying tickets from Seatwave. I purchased 2 tickets at 3 times their face value which included postage and handling fees, and over a month in advance of the event. I kept checking the website to see when the tickets would be dispatched, and as it got nearer to the event I became very anxious especially given the event was just after the bank holiday weekend. I called the customer services line on the Friday and was told that they would get in touch with the seller and get back to me, which they didn't. So I Called twice more over the next couple of days and was told again that you would try again and get back to me. The day before the event my account showed that the tickets had been dispatched through the regular post, and leaving no time for any error, including the fact that I would not be home to sign for the tickets as I work full time. I was very upset at the thought that the tickets might not arrive in time, and I had wasted money and time chasing up Seatwave. Luckily they arrived after lunchtime on the day, but it meant I had to go home to check after work, not knowing for sure if I was going or not. Additionally, not knowing if they would arrive or not prevented me from looking elsewhere for tickets. The fact that the seller left it until the very last minute to send the tickets is atrocious, and the reason why I would not use this service again, nor recommend them. Additionally, they are impossible to contact by email and flaky when you get them on the phone.

“Over pricing”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Nathaly254 on 10/04/2016

If a ticket is valued at 45 pound then two tickets will cost 238 is that right. Thats how much we paid for two tickets to the O2 to see Muse. The wife purchased the tickets for my birthday and used seatwave for the first and only time. I know a company has to make money and in selling the tickets it will need staff overheads etc but I just think that over 100 % market up is excessive. I would hate to think the hourly rate this company is on.

“Worst customer service Ive ever seen”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Rob1991 on 21/03/2016

I tried to sell Adele tickets via seatwave using their website. a short while later i recieved a notification email from seatwave that one of my tickets has been sold. however Adele released a statement saying that the resale of tickets will not be tolerated and the original purchaser of the tickets must attend the event with a valid form of ID. with this in mind I attempted to contact seatwave only to find they have no cusotmer service number on their website ?!?! the only way to speak to customer services is via twitter which i had to sign up to becuase I have never wanted an account. so After making a post about the subject on the seatwave page. I recieved a response telling me to be patient ad that seawave are aware of the issue. When the Email from the ticket suppliers came through they said that i had until a specific date to apply for a refund of the tickets. as this date was fast approaching i sent many tweets hoping to get a meaningfull answer as to how to proceed. nothing.. So along came the deadline so i cancelled the tickets to get a refund from the suppliers. and with the event only days away (at the time of writing this) seatwave claim that i will have to honour my side of the bargain and supply tickets or have them charged from my credit card. how is this possible when even if i did have the tickets they are not valid for anybody else? after several phonecalls and emails later (after finally finding some contact details in a dark corner of the internet) and requseting that a copy of a disputable phone conversation to be sent to me (as is my right under the data protection act). I was sent an email form the customer services team that was meant to go to a colleague. saying " just tell her that we have escalated the problem to our managers. were are obviuosly not going to send her a copy of that conversation" ) this just isnt acceptable . do not use seatwave to sell tickets. our buyer was going to have been dissapointed to if we had sold the tickets and they could get in. So dont use them to buy tickets either.

“Unprofessional awful service ”

written by on 29/02/2016

I ordered two Circue Du Soleil tickets on 17th February. It was my first time purchasing this sort of thing and felt proud that I had managed to do so until the tickets actually arrived. They were student tickets and had student printed across the top. I emailed Seatwave and had a really condescending guy tell me it was my fault as he claimed I should have known. I then phoned Seatwave and spoke to an incredibly unhelpful unprofessional woman who again told me it was my own fault and that the only thing she could recommend is that i try to sell the tickets on ( to students I might add!). I spent the best part of £300 on tickets that I could not use. Never again will I purchase from Seatwave.

Did your confirmation email from Seatwave state that you were buying student tickets? If not, you are covered by Seatwave's guarantee that you will receive the tickets you ordered and should expect a full refund.

“UNTRUSTWORTHY- USE OTHER ALTERNATIVES”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Swampy1973 on 07/02/2016

Purchased 2 SCD tickets, no communication from seller tickets arrived were not what I ordered. After several phone numbers and attempts managed to get through to Seatwave They did say they'd look into it and ring me back. No phone call came back other than an email saying I had to prove that the tickets I received were incorrect. You may or may not know this but when you buy tickets of seatwave you never get confirmation of the ticket location within the venue so you cannot prove it. I bought tier tickets in a different area closer to the performance area for £59 each plus their bit and I received tickets for £45 each plus their bit no where near the performance area. SEATWAVE and its sellers are bad and not to be trusted use someone else do not use this company.

I've recently sold 2 Welsh rugby tickets on the Seatwave website and was happy to receive confirmation within a few hours that they sold. The confirmation e-mail requested me to edit my listing and enter the barcode of each tickets. I don't appear to be able to amend or enter these barcodes which I think is restricting me in completing the sale and forwarding back the tickets. Can anyone help me please?

Honestly, you can't. They can only check them at the venue, on the day. The only thing I would recommend is getting to the venue way in advance, so that if they are fake, your friends have a chance of getting in anyway (they will have to buy new tickets, but can then go through the laborious process of getting a refund, so at least they got to see the match). I just won't ever buy from Seatwave again. They are the only company that consistently doesn't catch fake tickets - most of the others send you a text right before and manage to catch it!

The bad news is, there is no absolute certainty that the tickets aren't fake, it's a bit of a gamble. But I've not had a problem with Seatwave yet and if it's through Seatwave, they have a guarantee - so if you don't receive the tickets or they're fake, you'll get your money back and the seller won't get their money and will likely be black-listed from the site, so it's in everyone's best interest to get valid tickets to you. Seatwave prefer the seller uses recorded post, however they still may be only able to post them out to you closer to the time of the event, but if you still haven't received them 5 days to the event, contact Seatwave. At the end of the day, if they're fake, you won't be able to use them and you'll likely miss out on your event, but you'd get all your money back - if that's any consolation.

Never had a problem with seatwave personally so I wouldn't worry too much; but don't understand why you are not getting a satisfactory reply?
Report this content mayferch Written on: 24/02/2014
Hi, in Seatwave you are buying directly from someone else who's bought the ticket - so you depend on them to send these to you. This is why you might see a delay, Seatwave will depend on whoever you bought the ticket from. The good thing about doing it through Seatwave is that their guarantee is that if the seller fails to send you the tickets or if your tickets don't work, they will find you replacement tickets and if that is not possible they will give you a full refund. Seatwave don't actually give the money to the seller until after the event, so if you did have any problems the seller wouldnt get paid. There is still plenty of time though until the event so I wouldnt worry too much.
Report this content Serena1984 Written on: 24/02/2014
I was a little apprehensive with my first purchase from Seatwave, I was worried the tickets wouldn't come or wouldn't be valid - but I needn't have worried as it was all fine. I use Seatwave quite a lot to buy and sell and so far have not had any problems. Some sites don't recommend Seatwave as you can pay way over the face-value, but if you don't receive the tickets, etc, then there is a guarantee, and the seller wouldn't get their money so it's in their best interest to get the tickets to you. I'm not sure why you haven't received a reply from seatwave. If you're on twitter you can tweet them (@seatwave) your concerns and see if you get an answer there, as I've noticed service companies often pay attention to tweets since they are very public.

I'm not too sure when your event is taking place, but I ordered via Seatwave in December for two Avcii concert tickets for my son. The tickets arrived via registered post about a month before the concert (the concert was last week). My son and his friend attended the concert, had a great time with no problems. I'm not a big fan of "legalised ticket touting". I would say it's one step better than buying from outside the venue. I would only worry if the tickets are not with you two weeks before.

I too have bought and sold several times without any problem from Seatwave. Many venues/ticket agents are now not despatching tickets til much closer to the event so it could be that the seller has not yet got the tickets to send to you just yet. Seatwave advise you to contact them if you haven't received your tickets 5 days before the event/date you are due to travel to event which could perhaps explain why they're not responding?

Hi, I've had no problems with Seatwave. As others have said, they act as a go between and the tickets come directly from the seller. They may not arrive until just before the event.

I agree with Mayferch. You are buying from someone selling on the Seatwave site, and they will have to wait until they physically have the tickets before they can send them to you. As Mayferch says Seatwave won't pay them until you confirm you have the tickets. My tickets didn't arrive until a couple of days before the event, like you I was panicking because I had paid over the odds to buy front row seats and even when I had them I was scared in case they were fake but they were absolutely genuine. I would defintely use Seatwave again.

Passes for that festival don't go out from the organisers til June/July. They have only been on *presale* for six days at the time of your query.  I suggest you give Seatwave rather more of a chance. The wristbands don't even exist yet - and I've had superlative service from Seatwave myself. Organisers don't like their tickets going out through any third party, unless it's a scalper they have a prior price-fixing arrangement with. Which for me is a vote for Seatwave, not against.

No site that resells tickets is ever going to be perfect. You have to weigh up the pros and cons and go for what you feel comfortable with. Personally I would never use the sites that are 'owned' by companies like Ticketmaster (e.g. Getmein). It never ceases to amaze me how quickly top tickets sell out online and then how (equally quickly) they appear at ridiculously inflated prices on Getmein and the like. Before we first purchased from seatwave we did some research. With most resale sites you cannot guarantee that the tickets are genuine. If you want to be absolutely sure then buy from Getmein (even then I have heard tales of countfeits). Seatwave will not pay the person who supplies your ticket until you have been to the concert and assured seatwave that all was ok. If you do have a problem you will get ALL of your money back (including booking fees). That is little consolation if you have missed your concert but it is about the best guarantee you will get unless you want to pay sky high prices. We did have two invalid tickets last year for Hard Rock Calling - they had already been used (whoever sold them probably put them on more than one site). We were lucky because we found two people selling tickets that their other halves could not use so we still got in. But seatwave were fantastic when we reported back. We had a full refund within days and they banned the person who listed the tickets. Reading all the reviews I think we were unlucky to have invalid tickets. I will definitely use seatwave again.
Report this content Richard7777 Written on: 25/02/2014
Seatwave can be a problem because they rely on the seller selling his ticket. The problem is more likely to happen if the ticket prices and demand increases as the event draws nearer (so e.g. a seller won't sell if he's agreed a price but then that price increases). So for a music event you are less likely to have a problem - but for Wimbledon when Andy Murray reached the final demand and prices skyrocketed and sellers either realised they could get far more for their final ticket or decided to go themselves. So you should be OK for tomorrowland. They can be emailed and they normally respond quickly. They are keen not to get a bad reputation so if something does go wrong they will try and remedy.

I don't know what you mean by 'tomorrow land sites'? What is that? What I can say is that seatwave provide a service for people to sell or buy tickets for gigs at the price the seller wants, and it's worked for me in the past, I have not had any problem. I do think seatwave's fees are too high though.

Hi, We purchased JLS tickets for 22nd December and were thinking the same as you. HOWEVER, no need to worry our tickets were valid and the seats were available! In fact we had excellent service from seatwave as our original tickets were postal and didn't get to us so the sent us E tickets. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much. It's nice to hear that your experience of e tickets was a good one. Seatwave staff also emailed me back explaining that the funds for the tickets are not released to the seller until after that event, in order to prevent fraud. Therefore it wouldn't be worth their while trying to trick people. Anyway I'm now waffling. Thank you once again.
