Staff welcomed us warmly- first day of new VAT rate, so pricing was a bit confusing.
Jacket potato served with omelette was undercooked and inedible.
Mashed potato served with liver and onion was suspiciously like instant mash- couldn't be sure but texture and taste suggested this.
Otherwise the food was reasonable but not 1st class, particularly regards presentation. (read more)

Don't be fooled by the benign exterior of The Rising Sun in Swanmore. Behind the unassuming exterior is some great dining. It's a relaxed but lively country atmosphere with friendly hosts who know what the chef does with the food and how it?s cooked.
The pub is on Hill Pound in Swanmore, just a few minutes walk from the village centre.
