“My Favourite Game Of All Time!”

★★★★★

written by ShaunWatson on 03/11/2013

I remember buying Fallout 3 about 5 years ago and i still play it to this day, must have played through it over 20 times with a combined play time of at least 500 hours. Without doubt the best game ive ever played, i can't see anything beating it anytime soon (maybe Fallout 4!)couldn't recommend this game enough to anybody who likes RPG's.

“probably one of the Best games”

★★★★★

written by themaninthevan2001 on 04/01/2012

Seriously Bethesda is up there in the best RPG makers ever. With there huge success with the Elder Scrolls series, they created another instant classic. First off this game takes place in a post apocalyptic world that went through a nuclear war. And you are born in a Vault. You later leave the vault due to family and conspiracy reasons. Once your out your all on your own and you need to find your father. Let me tell you once you step out of the vault and see the world the graphics are just amazing. You become a part of the Brotherhood Steel and is your duty to get rid of the Enclave. That's enough about the story and on with the contents within the game. The amount of items in this game is insane, even though more than half of them are useless its just for the scenery I guess. For the amount of items I think there could have been more weapons and possibly the option to create more extensive weapons than what there is. Ammo can get scarce until you get farther in the game and ammo gets more plentiful than in the beginning. Money or Bottlecaps are not useless but really is needed. Most of your weapons you get can be found off of enemies same as armor, so you don't need to buy them. The only use I have found for the Bottle caps is buying ammo and health supplies. There is plenty of different armors but most of them look the same but are in different colors. The music fits the game well but does get annoying at times. To finish the dolce released is all great, Mother ship Zeta is the most lacking but Point Lookout is the most outstanding. Summary: Great story and Graphics. Lots of items, Weapons and Armor. Great music. Bottlecaps are not that useful.

A lot of games make a big deal out of player choice, but few in recent memory offer so many intricate, meaningful ways of approaching any given situation. You fulfill or dash the spiritual hopes of an idyllic society, side with slavers or their slaves, and decide the fate of more than one city over the course of your postapocalyptic journey through the Washington, DC wasteland. Your actions have far-reaching consequences that affect not just the world around you but also the way you play, and it's this freedom that makes Fallout 3 worth playing--and replaying. It's deep and mesmerizing, and though not as staggeringly broad as the developer's previous games, it's more focused and vividly realized.

This is simply one of the best games ever made, stunning graphics and hours upon hours of brilliant game play.

I have only ever come across one negative thing in the year I have owned this game which is walking across the wasteland can become extremely tedious, especially when walking long distances, at times I have had to switch the game off because it was that boring - that aside when you arrive at your destination you can be assured of exciting endless game play once again!

Fallout 3 is a simply spectacular game that not only can amaze players with a seemingly infinite storyline, but also gives me stuff to talk about with friends and family, for example my father wanted to know where the alien crash site was in the game, and I havent yet discovered it, I have been playing for about 3 weeks now, starting a new game as I have completed the main storyline and expansions multiple times, but this game still keeps me guessing because there is just so much I never discover, new skills to select, and areas to find, I am currently completing the main quest at a steady pace, allowing for side quests like the android mission which you have to be able to investigate things to be able to successfully complete this mission with maximum benefit, also the wasteland survival guide which is your easy way to get starting experience, exploring basic areas, and getting some sickly weapons. All in all a spectacular game that I will be able to play until they release the next one (here's Hoping) until then I am looking forward to the latest expansion 'Mothership Zeta' It's genius.

One of the few games that have ever been designed that exceeds every boundary of gaming and creates a few more along the way. There's so much to do in Fallout 3 that you'll be lost in time choosing where to go or what to do next.
Considering the size of the game, the graphics are crystal and everything in the Capital Wasteland has been created with a passion and flare. Theres thousands of places to visit from underground railways to cities atop of motorways and battleships!
Hundreds of weapons to battle tons of enemies including mutants, ants, scorpions and raiders etc.
A truly long and involving game that will provide millions of diversions and little bits of details and extras like perks and skills to learn that also gives the player a totally new experience each time a new game is started (that's if you manage to get through the first play through!)
A great game and well worth £35.

Fallout 3 is a very addictive game set in post nuclear America with ghouls, super mutants, raiders and plenty of other horrific foes to battle against. The landscape is impressive with a vast playing map. You can spend hours simply walking about the Fallout 3 world exploring every area and still not uncovered everything. The storyline is great with plenty of side quests to keep you busy and this increases the depth of your character. You can choose to be good, neutral or evil and pick perks and skills as you level which alters the responses you get from the NPC's in the game.

The 50's styling of pre nuclear war is a great touch and the radio stations are well worth listening to. I love "Let's go Sunning" and Vault Tec products and advertising!

The brilliant DLC available means I will not have to scour for another game that holds my attention so well. This is a game worth buying as the hours spent playing are well worth it and you really get value for money.

★★★★★

written by DELTAGOLF on 17/11/2008

Fallout 3 is a massive and ambitious game. It is an action/RPG game in the mould of Oblivion (coded by the same team: Bethesda Softworks), which sets you loose in a post -apocalyptic devestated Washington DC. The game involves a main quest-line, however there are several other side-quests and opportunities to advance in levels and generally explore.

The playing area is massive and meticulously designed. You really feel as if you are in the wastes, and continuously look over your shoulder in case a mutated Deathclaw jumps on you! The array of items and equipment available is astounding, plus you can design your own home-made weapons if you find the appropriate schematics. You can trade, converse, quest, explore or slaughter, depending on what takes your fancy. The plot is quite good and allows you a certain degree of flexibility in the choices you make. You could play as a mean, twisted psycho, or as a goody two-shoes. An unforgettable example of this, is right at the beginning of the game, where you have the option of obliterating a whole town and its inhabitants by detonating a nuclear bomb for cold cash, or de-activating the weapon and being a hero. This sort of choice is a common feature in this truly great game.

The combat can be quite exhilarating, with exploding body parts and 'havok' physics the order of the day. The sound and soundtrack are quite decent and add to the whole atmosphere of Fallout 3.

Some gripes: The animation can be a bit unrealistic in 3rd-person mode. Just go 1st-person and it's sweet. Some of the low-light scenes can be a bit too dark, so you often squint trying to make out the details.

Conclusion: Highly recommended. Huge amount of fun to be had amidst the ruins of an irradiated, devestated America. Go buy it and watch out for those Super Mutants! My rating: 91%

You have got to have your head screwed on right to finish this game.

Some good things about fallout 3 are:
- that you don't have to play any of the other fallout games to be able to follow this epic storyline which by the way has an brilliant cimax.

You must experience the genius of fallout 3 for yourself, truly a masterpiece.

This is one the best RPG games ever made, BRILLIANT!
