Would not recommend this place at all!!!!

Had lunch at this place recently would not tell any of my friends to go there. Reason being the food is far to over priced, and the staff was rude never again.

I feel the need to respont to the review from the west country person who attended a August bank holiday private party.
I am shocked at the comments.

The restaurant was booked for a private buffet function that weekend for the grand total of £300. This was for sole use of the restaurant provision of staff and buffet on a Sunday afternoon.
They had a whole dressed salmon b and ham eef joints and various fresh made salads and bread.
I prepared the food myself and take great pride in my work ...

A welcoming atmosphere, Alexanders serves a mean pancake, and Scottish night back in January was no disappointment: we were squeezed in even though the event was fully booked ahead of the weekend. Love the settees and informal layout, and the artwork (who is the artist?)

At Alexanders Lincoln, the food was good, the large chips great, the waiting staff were also nice and friendly.
My son is only 1 yrs old and my friends child almost 2. The waitresses were lovely and provided us with high chairs, they also moved other chairs out so we could all fit round one table without getting in anyone elses way. We ordered food for ourselves and although my friend had brought a sandwich for her child (due to no offering of childrens meals) we still bought a sandwich for them ...

Nice friendly atmosphere, good food (especially the chunky home cooked chips mmmm - would go back again just for those!) Nice decor, great place for an evening meal. Not 100% child friendly, but the staff will accommodate you and they do have high chairs. All in all a great night out!

We felt obliged to respond to the review dated 15 january 2008.
These are not comments i recognise in all my visits. Good cooked with skill and passion. Service has always been attentive and friendly.
The owner tells us with some pride that over 1000 customers a week including many regulars come to enjoy simple coffee through to a full meal in the evening.
It is true that they close some evenings but the times are clearly sited on the door. I understand that as the summer approaches the summer ...

We have used Alexanders many many times for coffees and full dining experiences. Never disappointing and regularly batting well above their weight they have a skill and passion in the kitchen which is fantastic to see in these days of mediocrity. Service is of a high standard with the staff often going out of there way to assist. The owner takes pride in telling us he has over 1000 customers a week and hundreds of regulars. It is true that they shut some evenings during the winter but times are ...

At best the business could be a thriving day time cafe. We wanted an evening meal but didn't have any success when trying Alexanders. They have a Beat the clock deal but basically you have to Beat the clock to even get an evening meal at all as this business frequently appears to be shut by 5pm and cannot accommodate those who want to go for a meal 'off the cuff' from 6 or 7pm onwards.
