The Walnut Club Hathersage.
Had a really enjoyable evening with special friends. Mix up over the specific table that had been booked but they did bend over backwards to make ammends. 2 of the main dishes were sold out which was disappointing- lamb & pork. Portions are small but adequate.Live music was not what I expected- thought it would be more contemporary and thought it was a bit dated for the establishment although the two guys were good musicians. It was advertised as open till 1am but the place was dead by 12. My food was good but not outstanding.Thought the menu was bit limited (partic as two dishes were off)The decor is neat and the atmosphere good but I wasn't bowled over- just content.

What a wonderful dining experience at Walnut Club Hathersage. I visited a very busy restaurant on a Tuesday evening, no wonder, it was amazing. Even live music on the evening! If you are in the Peak District, a must visit!

I've been wanting to drive out to this little wonder for ages now, the reviews i have seen and been told about built up the restaurant and i am happy to say didn't let us down.
We arrived to a nice warm welcome and shown through to our table, Had a couple of cocktails to choose from and i couldn't help but ordering the Chocolate Martini, Lovely.
The meal itself was to die for, the menu is full of options for meat, fish and vegi's alike and my rabbit for the main course was delightful. The Chocolate dessert my wife had was making my mouth water but i was already stuffed even to try.
The atmosphere was spot on, with Dizzy Club playing in the back ground and the service being polite and professional.
Would recommend to anyone, can't wait to return

We've visited the Walnut Club several times over the last 2 years. The organic food is delicious, albeit quite pricey for the rather small portions, we've ordered 2 main courses on a couple of occasions. There is a good choice of wine, although not all bottles on the list are always in stock, so its best to have a reserve choice. The service isn't brilliant and you often end up going to the bar for extra drinks. There is some excellent live Jazz occasionally but it can lack atmospsphere a bit without. Be sure not to get seated by the entrance door end as it can get a bit chilly. Its best to book ahead at weekends. Overall rating- Average.
