Have my CPI SM Supermoto for a year now.Bought it Dec 2007/Jan 2008.Had many faults appear 1/2 way through the year.Rear light won't come on,sometimes along with the turnsignals too!Or it comes on but the brakelight won't activate when I brake.
Currently unable to ride it as it can't start anymore even though a new battery has been installed. It only started that one time the new battery was intalled.Hasn't had a successful start since.Upon pressing the starter button, there's a clicking sound dow ...

My bike is the sx version orange and black on 58 plates used daily as a commuter bike and its done about 3,150miles after reading this page ive realised im not alone in the problems ive been having.

    such as,
-when i bought the bike the rear break was locking on
-ive had several rear indicators as the flash speed keeps increasing
-breaks seized up a few times- causing me to drop it once =(
-the circular rubber things holding the exhaust on snapped along either exhaust spring so ive had to make m ...

i commented on Aug 3rd (2down)i had my CPI SM Supermoto re-serviced due to over-revving and engine blowing, so new engine and new start really..bike seems to be fine, had some issues with starting in the cold, and still sometimes doesn't like getting past 44, and the chain did come loose.. VERY loose it rattled my bike and needed sorting, apart from that its a nice design good bike, good for 16-17 yr old, rather go for car or bigger models if your 18-19+..

I like the bike but a lot of maintence into the bike and a lot of time money and effort I have spent fixing my bike. Very bad build quality I've had 4! new pistons one new head gascett, 2 new back indicators, one lower engine bearing, new spark plug, 3 new key locks, 2 new chains, Rubbish acceleration as it is restricted, speedo incorrect.

I've had my bike for 3months now, CPI SM 50 Derestricted 2008 model Orange/Black. At first the bike seemed high and nice to ride, But since my first service, either they 'serviced it wrong' or the bikes had it at 1350 miles, the digital clock sometimes displays 125mph when braking, it cuts out when coming to a stop (rev's needed when stopping :S), back brake seems to be unresponsive sometimes, back indicator snapped off by catching it on a gate (very flimsy).
Overall the bike would be better if ...

Do not buy a cpi! get an Aprilia. Well my gearbox completely packed up after 1500 miles and I always used clutch properly, speedo does not work and there's going to be plenty more wrong with it in the near future I hope not.

It is a very god moped with a lot of quality parts. It is the strongest and fastest moped ever built, and that is tested! It has very good acceleration, in fact it's so fast that it's barely legal. It has a lot of luxury parts like chromed exhaust, wave brakes, aluminum rims, digital gauges, liquid cooled, super quality, fully customizable suspension, racing handling, very good gearbox, high top speed, awesome design, Mikuni racing 16 mm carburetor (racing high quality), automatic choke, electri ...

I have found this bike to be rubbish. I will give it some good points, its cheaper than the other bikes around and its very quick once run in and derestricted. But, apart from these I have found that the build quality is rubbish, I have had, new engine, new exhaust, 2 new indicators, new water pump (previous engine), new battery, new speedo cable and new speedo dashboard, all on warranty due to manufacturing problems. I have also had extremely bad gearbox problems. I've also had problems with th ...
