Over the years i have owned plenty of the top end Air rifles,I recently decided to go back on the hunt. Anyway i thought i would try a lower budget Chinese springer,i have heard so much about the poor quality and accuracy i decided to go for it and purchase one,i settled for the SMK DB4 Custom,Wow am i surprised. On close inspection the stock is real nice quality, the blueing is not of the same quality of the real expensive outfits but i am again pleasantly surprised. The SMK DB4 .22 air rifle is a beautiful gun for its price. I payed £80 for the deluxe version at 30% off. If you put a decent scope on it its a beast of a gun. I go hunting for Rats and rabbits preferebly , my record is a clean headshot from around 52 yrds. The power of the gun is around 700-900 fps ( feet per second) if you get it tuned it can go upto a 1000 max. This gun is a great budget rifle perfect for hunting beginers or pro's . preferebly you should use bisley magnum pellets to... (read more)

You pay for what you get, this is very true. This rifle however may be the exeption to this life long rule of thumb.
Ok it's not in the same league quality wise of some far more expensive air rifles but for the money it's a damn good buy with a decent quality stock and VERY robust in build.

This rifle is fairly accurate, simple to use and powerful.
With a stock length of 15", it seems to be suited to taller people, and the width of the grip is very wide, so shooters with smaller hands should look elsewhere.
This rifle is suprisingly powerful, but has a heavy trigger pull.
Overall this rifle is good value for money, and could beat some air rifles at twice the price.
I would recommend this rifle to a first time shooter.

My 1st air rifle, had it for a year and for a 1st rifle it was good depending for what you want to use it for. I wanted to go hunting for rabbits and crows but for rabbits it is not powerful enough forover 20 yards. I now have an SMK SYNRG .22 FULL 12 FT POUND Power and will kill a rabbit easily at 40-50 yards, a supierior gun highly recomended at only £139. (read more)
