FX VERMINATOR - MY INITIAL THOUGHTS:

Firstly I've only had my Verminator for 1 Week so I'm still leading in the barrel - hence I can't really comment on its accuracy at present (its grouping at 11 metres but isn't able to do pellet on pellet yet - which it should at that range)... yes before you ask I've shot it from a rest to check!

    Good Points:
    - Its light and feels good in your hands
    - It looks fantastic
    - Reloading is incredible quick (great for ratting!)
    - Quiet (with a Weirach silencer)
    - Accurate (according to all reports - I can't verify this yet)

    Bad Points:
    - Cheek peice feels a bit weird though I expect this to change when I get used to it
    - Unregulated
    - Magazines fly out when you take out the locating pin
    - Cost - it's expensive for an unregulated rifle
    - To get the correct eye relief I have to move the scope right back; which then means it doesn't fit in the case when I take it down. This isn't a major problem as I leave it set up anyway and use a logun gun bag, but I was a bit disappointed by this
    - You need high mounts to see anything (which I personally don't like)
    - The filling hole for the probe on my rifle is positioned in such a way that I have to take the bipod off whenever I charge it (pretty irritating). I suspect this is probably limited to my particular rifle as haven't heard this complaint before.
    - There was no advice on drilling the rear of the stock to fit a sling. Yes its light so I don't mind carrying it for now, but when I'm walking around and need both hands free (cigarette and torch) then a sling is idead. Also on pig and chicken farms I don't like to rest the gun on the floor for hygeine reasons.

Anyway regardless of my criticisms I am really pleased with this rifle overall. I've never bought a new gun that didn't need at least a tin of pellets to lead in the barrel so I would think the accuracy issue will disappear soon.

I would reccomend this to anyone who wants a light, short, attractive rifle without the maintenance of a wooden stock... provided you have the money to buy one.
Though if you don't mind the wood and a lower shot capacity then you may as well get yourself an Air Arms S410 TDR or a Falcon FN12.

I have a fx 2000 & air arms 400 & this brilliant gun does everything they do. I actually shot more acurate over 65 yds with this gun than i did with the others. I love it
