Good Points: The best kids's TV show of all time bar none.
Bad Points: That the programme is no longer running.
General comments: Rainbow is the best children's t.v show of all time bar none. Sooty being an honorable second. Geoffrey looks after Bungle, Zippy and George at the Rainbow House and the fun AND learning begins. Some hilarious episodes and a twenty years plus span show the programmes durability. The hopeless spin off Rainbow Days should not be confused with the original.Everyone should purchase a Rainbow Dvd and the world would be a happier place.
These days we are being spoon fed a diet of mush and car crash telly. Spikey haired men in their late twenties jumping around to a cavalcade of high tempo pop drivel throwing buckets of sick over people seems to be order of the day now while a baying studio audience make a cacophonous wall of noise in anticipation of the gunk fest. How can kids learn anything from this type of junk? No i say bring back Rainbow. Programmers should throw money at Geoffrey and co and beg them to make some new stuff.
Perhaps I should have reviewed kids tv in general as this has turned into a rant but i make no apology for my views. And yes there are still some good kids tv shows but they are not ten a penny these days. Step forward Rainbow,Sooty,The box of delights, Children of green knowe, Knightmare,chocky i would go on and on but its late.
I implore people to watch Rainbow and not be impressed, there is a place in my heart for it forever.
