I dont understand the negative reviews. I used the site to book a trip with 3 friends to Italy. I went to Venice, Florence, and Rome. Maybe people who used the site expected everything planned out for them. The site provided flight, hotel options and transportation options between the locations. You have to look at the map of where the hotel is located to make the decisionif thats something that is important to you. The rest I mapped out for myself such as how to get to hotel from airport, trainstation to hotel, restaurants, sight seeing, etc. This is as I expected. The site is great for booking your trip and I will use them again for my future trips.

European Destinations has an F with the BBB. They are located out of DC. They forgot to send my ticket and left me stranded in Boston.- Read Guest's review (26 words)

I loved using european destinations. I used their suggested travel plan and modified it to fit my plans. The hotels were perfect and there were no suprises at check in and no suprises on airfare or train travel. It was easy and I will use them again. I set my own tours up once I arrived in the my destination cities. Some where better than others. Next time I might book my tours through ED., as well. I'm ready to try them on a trip to Russia next fall.

Customer Service is very poor. Make sure that you ask many questions, because their agents have no idea how to make your experience easy. They
only give you the basic serivce and it is your responsibility to be your
own travel agent and make sure they add these additional services.
If you are renting a car in a foreign country, they don't even ask you if you need any kind of GPS or road maps. They are ready just to drop you in
a foreign country with no clue. And then when you try to inquire ...- Read rmp708rmp's review (157 words)

I want to tell you about several "HUGE" disappointments I experienced while i was on vacation. I booked using european destinations since u were recommended by a friend however I had a totally different experience than he did.
First of all the Regence Hotel in Nice France had a horrible stench in the room then to compound matters the shower stall kept overflowing which i reported to the desk and was told that I would have to wait till the morning to have it cleaned up since there was no one i ...- Read Guest's review (464 words and 1 comment)

Two females arrived at the airport in Athens. Instead of being taken to what was supposed to be a 4* hotel, we were taken to a refuge slum. The car was surrounded by people, the doors were opened and people grabbed us to pull us from the car. ED has no 24hr help line, so we checked ourselves into a hotel in a safe area in Athens.
When we returned to US we were told they had no liability to refund our money even though we booked an ED recommended hotel. Even a complaint filed with the BBB did n ...- Read Guest's review (100 words)

I do not understand the negative reviews here. Most of them sound like they had problems due to the customer not doing their homework. Of course if you take the hotels they first reccommend they are going to be far away from the center of town....that's why it's the least expensive option!! Twice I've used European Destinations and their sister company to go to Italy and Costa Rica, and I haven't had any problems what-so-ever. The trips were great, the hotels were exactly what I was expecting ...- Read Guest's review (139 words and 1 comment)

The whole trip through european destinations was a great experience for my son and I. The 2 things I would do differenty would be to pack light and NOT.... bring a big suitcase. It was very hard with the train to put it on the top rack and to get through the people on the train. I think people should also take the time to see where their hotels are. I spent alot of money on cabs getting to our hotels. Make sure they are close to the city you are staying. All the hotels were very clean and the s ...- Read Guest's review (112 words)

Think very carefully about using this European Destinations site. The prices they advertise are fractions of the prices that it will actually cost you to book through them. I settled on a package knowing the price could very somewhat from their advertised price. However, I was booking a package only one week earlier and only looking for 2 nights extra, yet the ~$2600 advertised price turned into over $6000. I called to get help and reached a very rude lady who not only told me not to expect ...- Read Guest's review (147 words)

We went to spain, visiting 4 cities with train travel between, and found everything perfectly easy. Our hotels were lovely (all of them were rated in the top ten by customer satisfaction on your site). I called you a few times with questions before our trip and was able to speak with a person who was helpful each time. I would have liked to be able to compare prices on the train tickets before booking. All in all, i would use European Destinations, and have recommended you to friends. thank y ...- Read Guest's review (90 words)

European Destinations was easy to use and everything went through in terms of hotels, trains, and airfares. We booked everything online, and then received the paperwork a few weeks before we were to depart. The only thing that I would NOT recommend is using the feature that allows you to pay some now, pay the rest later. That really confused things. Other than that, they were a pleasure to work with!- Read Guest's review (71 words)

simple, dont trust a travel agent who cannot even speak proper english- though based in the US. i must say european destinations are getting better with english, but the service is highly questionable. i had booked a multi-city europe tour with them and found out that one of the hotels that they booked for me did NOT even exist!!! after much ado i finally got to their customer service and the woman flatly lied that they'll refund me for another hotel, but once i was back in US they all changed t ...- Read rbalki's review (141 words and 1 comment)

I booked my travel with European Destinations for a 2-week trip to Spain. paid for all the airfare and hotels. When we got to Spain, all the hotels that they booked for us was 1~2 hrs away from the main cities. we had to pay extra for transportation from the city center out to BFE to get to the hotel. Then we had to cut our trip short for 4 days and we had called in to get a refund, not only did they not issue us a refund, they never responded to our calls or returns our calls. Customer service ...- Read wisedom123's review (105 words)

I bought a travel package from this company for Spain. Paid all money for airfare and hotels nearly 3 months before the travel. In the middle of the trip, I was left stranded on an island as the hotel that this company had supposedly booked for me, did not exist! The worst wasn't that, as I would later find out. From midnight to 4am, I was just trying to get an answer from them, while being in a foreign country and no knowledge of local language there. Finally, their rep told me to book a room i ...- Read et1074's review (330 words)
