Good Points: Easy playability, nice mellow tone.Very eye catching appearance.

Bad Points: I know it's a lower end guitar but a case or gig bag included would have been nice. The sound would also probably improve with a bone nut, saddle and bridge pins. Next time I change strings I may do that.

General comments: I picked up my 2006 Epiphone Hummingbird on eBay for $300 AU in almost new condition about 4 months ago. Apart from new strings I did nothing to it, and it plays beautifully. It has a nice mellow tone from the solid spruce top which allegedly improves with age, but tone wise it's still no match for my 30 year old Kiso Suzuki. For a Chinese made model it is finished well with no obvious perfections, and it really is stunning to look at. Other reviewers have commented that the scratch plate pattern wears easily, so I am careful when I strum not to scratch it. I play Neil Young, America, Pink Floyd camp fire type singalong stuff which it handles well.

    Love the sound, great quality!
Features can be a bit better..
Everything is perfect except the designs on the pick guard
Kind of girly but I recommend buying the guitar.

Epiphone should put the rosewood bridge pins on the Hummingbird like the Gibson counter part. I had to order the pins from the guitar center and the sound is unbelievable.

I did my reseach before buying a guitar, I was looking for something in the 200 price range and this is, by far the best guitar that I could find.

On my Epiphone Hummingbird Acoustic Guitar the action was really high and therefore the intonation was out too when I first got it. Wanted to install a pickup so decided to get a proper set-up done. This included changing the nut and saddle to bone ones, adding brass tone-pins, lowering the action and fitting some decent strings. Including the cost of the pick-up and strings, this all came to just over £90.
I now have a guitar that looks great, feels great and sounds superb. I love it. De ...

I have a hummingbird that is approx 6 to 7 years old, far better than the ones made now. My one looks and feels quality, today's ones sound and look like cheapies. It's a shame.

Having happily just got a tax rebate, I trotted down to Denmark Street in Central London to 'have a look', I was actually after a telecaster, but that is another story.

the Hummingbird just drew my eye...

In the shop I played it for a sold half hour and I can't belive the finish and more inportant the sound.

Excellent bass tones and yet wth a crisp bright voice, reminding me of 'Black Bird' by the Beatles.

I paid £180.00 and I have to say probably the best £180 I have spent in ye ...
