“Mis-sold!!! website is misleading (australia paid work) ”

Written on: 24/07/2014

I used real gap as it was spoken about by a friend. they had never used it but heard they were ok. my plan had been to oz and looking for work from the uk was proving difficult. So the website stated that real gap will support you to have a job within a few days landing in oz. it wasn't till i asked specifically about the work they would be finding for me that i learnt the truth. Apparently it was up to me to source the work and interviews etc. This confused me as when booking with them i was… Read Full Review

“Sydney Paid work and Intro”

Written on: 09/07/2014 by MelKab (1 review written)

A really good week, a great way to meet new people in a new city and get to explore the highlights of Sydney. You stay in Wake Up hostel which is a really great hostel to meet people in. The wine tasting was great, and the buffet up the Sydney Tower is so good! You can eat as much as you like :) Not too much of a fan of the surfing lesson, its quite a long way to go for only a 1.5 hour lesson, plus its a bit of a rush to go out afterwards on the pub crawl. But maybe if I liked surfing I would… Read Full Review

“USA Western Wonder”

Written on: 12/06/2014 by pashley95 (1 review written)

I went on the 7 day western wonder a few weeks ago and it was the best thing i've ever done. The trip was a Trek America trip however i booked it through Real Gap and the people who helped me book the trip were really helpful. They were always willing to answer any questions i had and were really friendly and helpful over the phone. The only thing i would say is they didn't let me know i needed a visa until i asked. I would definitely book through real gap again and i'm hoping to do the… Read Full Review

“Wouldn't trust any other travel agent”

Written on: 06/06/2014 by cally.strowbridge (1 review written)

Real Gap as a third party is brilliant at coordinating between travel companies and customers. My experiences in both Vietnam and Zambia were great, but they started off on he right foot because I booked through Real Gap. I've only ever booked the actual trip and not flights or insurance, so I don't know how they are with those things. But any questions I've had have always been dealt with quickly and thoroughly… Read Full Review

“Once in a Lifetime”

Written on: 20/05/2014 by Kate_Rist (1 review written)

This trip, 'Live with Lion cubs' was absolutely amazing. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity, from making the babies bottles to cutting up meat for the older cubs, to even slicing up dead cows for the fully grown lions, this trip was never dull and had me attempting things I never though I would do. The people were amazing and the place was brilliant, as was the accommodation and food, being of a higher standard than I thought it was going to be. Meeting all the other girls from Real Gap… Read Full Review

Very efficient, couldn't have wished for better organisation when planning my trip. My Real gap coordinator was so helpful, helping me decide which trip would be best for me after getting to know me and sorting everything for me with no problems. She also responded to any questions I had immediately. Another real gap coordinator who I had spoken to before contacted me to check how my planning was going which shows they all really care. I will be planning my next trip with real gap. The trip was… Read Full Review

“Trip of a lifetime! INDIA EXPERIENCE!”

Written on: 15/04/2014 by kristad5 (1 review written)

I am quite shocked to read about other peoples apparent "negative" experiences. I am sorry to hear your trip didn't meet your expectations. My experience on the other hand was absolutely flawless. The organization was very satisfying and the people I met along the way were incredible. I would highly recommend the Real India Experience to anyone! I loved the fact that I ran around all over India seeing and doing new things, including top favourites like riding an elephant, camel safari into the… Read Full Review

“China Ultimate Adventure”

Written on: 20/03/2014 by JennaFinch303 (1 review written)

I did the China Ultimate Adventure trip with Real Gap last year and had the most amazing time. I was quite nervous about going as it was my first time travelling and I'm so glad I chose to go with Real Gap. The service I received was brilliant and everyone I spoke was really helpful and reassuring and they answered all my questions. The trip itself was absolutely brilliant from start to finish and we saw all of the main attractions as well as some other places which normal tourists wouldn't get… Read Full Review

“Lion Cub Experience was the best two weeks of my life”

Written on: 12/03/2014 by cristylouise (1 review written)

Words cannot fully describe how amazing it was to volunteer on the Living with Lion Cubs programme. I cannot recommend it more highly. It is a totally different experience than just visiting on holiday. The amount of interaction with the cubs and ALL the other animals as well was the best bit. I will never forget the animals (Rory and Savannah, my favourites!). You get to work with the lions, cheetahs, giraffes, ostriches, meerkats, hyenas and many more. I travelled out there by myself, which… Read Full Review

REAL GAP - THAILAND EXPERIENCE - DEC 2013 This was my first time traveling alone and to a place other than the usual holiday destinations eg Spain, Greece so I was nervous, excited, anxious and had so many mixed emotions about the trip but I had nothing to worry about! I had the best month of my life, met friends that I will stay in touch with forever. We have only been back two weeks and we are already planning a date to meet up. From the moment I was picked up from the airport I loved… Read Full Review

“Costa Rica Turtle & Surf”

Written on: 20/11/2013

I booked the Costa Rica Turtle & Surf programme for two weeks in November 2013. I wanted an adventure that would have me doing things other than just paying through the nose for 'tourist activities', and I wanted to get close to the culture - this certainly didn't disappoint. The booking team were very helpful, and were in contact regularly. I did my own research on air travel so had an approximate cost in mind; when RealGap offered to search for air travel, they did and were only £20 - £30… Read Full Review

“Very disappointing”

Written on: 03/11/2013

I went to Costa Rica this summer to "teach English" in a school with a friend of mine. Whilst booking, the members of staff who helped me were great, really helpful and friendly... however... when arriving in Costa Rica, it started to go downhill quite quickly. Having been promised airport pick up, there was no one there when we landed, we had to make our own way to our hostel, which was terrifying in a new country. The hostel was pleasant and when we finally met a member of the Real Gap team… Read Full Review

“Don't use Real Gap”

Written on: 13/10/2013 by AMarquis (1 review written)

I booked on the china ultimate adventure for August 2013. I'd already been travelling for 4 months and wanted to finish on a high as China was the country I'd been most looking forward to seeing. I so wish I'd booked with intrepid / STA (I'd used them for other tours). From the moment we arrived in China real gap let us down time and time again. The guides they'd 'organised' were uninformed and had no skills to lead or group or educate us about their areas. Hostels were so cheap and disgusting… Read Full Review

“Real Gap are a complete RIP OFF - go with GAdventures ”

Written on: 23/09/2013 by darthgandalf (1 review written)

I went on several tours with Real Gap and they overcharge and rip you off with everything. As an example of the GAP Adventures mark up. I paid £800 for attend an Animal Sanctuary in Ecuador for two weeks. I found out when I was there that the Animal Sanctuary only charge £100 a week. Their mark ups are outrageous. DO NOT use them. Only maybe their SE Asia tours approach well organised and good value for money, but their coverage of the country is quite limited. You could see far more in a… Read Full Review

It was an incredible trip and i had such a good time. It gave me the opportunity to see and experience so many things in such a short time. Krueger National Park was an absolute highlight. seeing Rhinos, Elephants, Lions just walking next to me...looking at me...AMAZING. spending time with the children in Swaziland was really great too and really rewarding. Swaziland is such a beautiful country with so many friendly and kind people. I was lucky to be there for the Bushfire Festival which was an… Read Full Review

“12 Month Working Holiday New Zealand”

Written on: 24/04/2013

Before leaving England I had all the help I needed, what to take, security information, the ground team were an excellent help. I got to AKL and followed the directions RG had provided me with to get the bus to the city were wrong. My first 7 days were pre booked in a hostel and I would be provided with breakfast. Upon arriving to the hostel I got a welcome pack with meal vouchers, sim card, USB stick and other info. The USB stick was my "help finding work" info that I was lead to believe a… Read Full Review

“USA EXPERIENCE”

Written on: 18/03/2013 by AliceWainwright (1 review written)

INCREDIBLE. The Trip was awesome, it gave me the opportunity to see the southern states in just 3 weeks. The first half of the trip was mostly visiting Washington and then viewing Virginia, Tennessee and Texas and then the second half visited the Grand Canyon, Vegas and LA. The best part about the trip is that you do not need to spend much additional money whilst on the trip- apart from a small amount for the food budget and a couple of hotels. My tour guide, Mitch, was awesome- he made sure… Read Full Review

I went to Tanzania last August and volunteered and I had the most amazing time! I met some amazing friends who made the experience so memorable! The team in country were always there to help us if we had any questions and helped me and my friend with our further travel plans. Me and my friend were planning to go to Zanzibar after and they pointed my friend in the right direction to get her yellow fever jab.
