“Plagued by Marketing Calls”

I had an annual travel insurance policy with All Clear Insurance. Just before the Policy expired they wrote to me reminding me that the policy was ending and strongly recommending that i renew it. “Didn't call me back as promised”

I had an online chat with member of staff and explained my daughter is skiing in America on a school trip and needed inurance as the insurance company used by the tour operator have refused her cover, as she has a birthmark. They said yes we can give her cover make sure her Doctor clears her fit for travel, sorted all that then called them back the next day only to be told no, we don't cover birthmarks. “Not to be trusted”

All clear travel insurance are roges and not to be trusted. How can someone pay £1400 for 12 nights insurance, disclose everything to the best of their belief and knowledge and not be covered, costing our family £40,000 !!!!!!!!!!!! We disclosed that the insured had cancer, why did all clear not do their own checks and reasurch to ensure that we had all angles covered. Judging by your inability to communicate in a succinct or grammatically correct manner (even with the advent of spell check), I would suggest that you did not declare your conditions in good faith. As with any policy from car to home insurance, an incorrect disclosure will result in no cover being provided. As for your suggestion that a company should know more about your medical conditions than you actually do...that is a preposterous notion at best.

The company's response is inappropriate and insulting to this customer.
It also reflects the attitude you can expect if you need to make a claim!

You can pay good money for no cover or, you can place your £50 notes in a pile and set fire to them. The result is the same.
Shop elsewhere seems to be the best advice!

I am not associated with this business in any way (I thought my name would make that clear). I am a reviewer like yourself, who cannot accept when people slander companies because of their own inadequacies (I'm sure you have handled customers/clients who are wrong in your own working career). If I had purchased car insurance yet not declared previous accidents, I would expect my policy to be voided. Again, it is OUR responsibility to disclose OUR situation, the company will then assess and quote...as with every insurer on the planet!

I would have thought that £1400 would buy a very comprehensive cover ! You had declared the cancer and probably answered any questions that arose, perhaps this insurance company do not know which questions to ask. As far as this 'Reviewer' is concerned what a plonk he must be. Saw this company advertised on TV but I will not be using them after reading these reviews.

“Injury in Germany but Great Service”

We claimed on our travel policy following an accident to my wife whilst on holiday in Germany.She spent 9 days in hospital!!!From first contact the insurance company were great, very efficient whilst we were in Germany sorting out transport and flights for our trip back to the UK including transport to our front door in the UK. “diabetes stroke”

I booked a luxury holiday to florida for me .my fiance and our grandaughter who is 3. Tried other insurers but they didnt give great cover.my fiance suffers from diabetes had never had a problem with his illness until the day of his birthday 3rd of october when he suffered a stroke .we were abroad at the time visiting our daughter in france and luckily enough they have great medical care over there.doctors advised my fiancee not to travel long haul for at least 6 months because of the bleed… Read Full Review

“BE WARNED - appalling service when trying to help abroad”

Like many others I found this company offered medical insurance when others refused, their cost was also less than those who would quote. I guess I should have known better! Paid nearly £500 for insurance. Broke my arm on holiday.....got no help whatsover from this company. Cost me a fortune in phone calls trying to get them to help. My claim has taken 8 months. Finally got the cheque this morning. The cheque is for HALF the amount claimed . We could not travel because my son was ill. I have just been told that there is a policy excess of £150 PER PERSON not per claim so we have paid £450. Took out this insurance to cover me for a trip to USA and further holidays in 2011, went with All-clear due to previous medical problems. My flight was delayed by a week out of the UK due to bad weather and I lost a week of my holiday and all other travel arrangements made. All clear may be on the policy but if you have a claim you deal with one company for the medical claim and another for any other claim the latter being an administration base in Southend that are very talented at losing any bit of paper you send them even if recorded delivery! very frustrating paid a significant amount for the annual cover but boy am I paying more now in chasing them for my claim in august 2010 now feb 2011 not a penny so far!!… Read Full Review

Looking at the other reviews, it seems clear that All Clear insurance receives good reviews UNLESS YOU NEED TO MAKE A CLAIM! We have had to cancel our holiday owing to my husband's ill health. Claim was eventually successful for treatment in the USA but dealing with claim was very complicated dealing with 3 different companies.All Clear do not actually deal with claims themselves. It took over 6 months to eventually pay all bills to US hospital and doctors.Kept receiving final demands for the charges from US. Thank you all for such disappointing comments, so that I would not think of even getting a quote from this company. Lots of people have medication conditions, and they pay high premiums, but if they can not get their claims paid, what good is this. I wander why FSA has not done anything about this?

Beware, it may be easy to obtain insurance from All Clear but when you try to claim things could be very different...
I had to cancel mine and my partners holiday because I was not allowed to fly. I put in my claim and have been told I can only claim for my flight and not his as he was not a named travelling companion, this was never mention when I took the insurance out. Both my husband and I have pre-existing medical problems which are not causing us to need any hospital treatment. Other companies were cheaper but we felt the telephone operator (Nicola) with Allclear understood what we were talking about and we felt confident that we were receiving the cover we required. This was not the case with other companies, who, we felt might be awkward if we had to claim (we have never claimed for ourselves in over 10 years of travel.)
