bought this bike due to forward controls required for a bad hip and chopper
style look. receive loads of compliments on this bike. both my wife and i find the bike very comfortable. find it has lots of torque. there are limited choices for tailbags due to king queen seat, but there is plenty
of hardware to strap onto. for the most part i have kept the bike stock.
did add split speedo and tach.........little pricey, but nice.
only draw backs are the 5th gear being noisy, and the front tire...

The Harley Davidson Softail Custom - FXSTC is a beautiful custom bike!!!! I love the look, chromes and the rear tire 200mm. The 2009 mod. has a much shorter fork..... than the 2007-08 mod. and that looses her style of custom choper of the old days school. The HD web page does not say anything about it, and the pictures are from 08 mod. thats really wired. Here in norway (place where I live) the fxstc cost around 40000 usd, that to much for a motorcycle. I really want one, (07-08 mod, not... (read more)

I have an Harley Davidson Softail Custom - FXSTC, color is Deep Cobalt Pearl, First I love the look, its not an old fuddy duddy tank rolling down the road. The 200mm tire keeps your a%ss planted down on the road, its a lot of rubber. The relaxed stretch from the forward controls and slightly racked out front end make this a joy to ride. After tweaking the bike, pipes, digital fuel compensation, and a few personal effects will make it a killer ride. Also remember its a "Balanced V-twin"... (read more)

With the Harley Davidson Softail Custom - FXSTC the button tufted seat is comfortable. With foreward pegs the ergonomics are perfect for a comfortable position though the mini apehangers do require a stretch. The power, the feel of the ride all contribute the the essence of a Harley experience. It makes you never want to leave it. Dealer network offer no problems, pricey but greet you as a person, they do the job like they know how and are nice about it. I love my FXSTC. Fit, finish, dealer... (read more)

The Harley Davidson Softail has plenty of power, very comfortable riding position, super sexy look, wonderful ride.
I was a little concerned that cornering might be a problem with the skinny front tire and that big fat 200mm rear tire, but it actualy handles very well. Of course, the look is awesome. Lotsa chrome, good seat, comfortable riding position-- as long as you like the mini-ape hangers. My hands are just a little below the height of my shoulders when I ride and I'm 5'1-0".
Great...

I think who ever came up with the 2009 colors for the Harley davidson Softail should be fired. Some of the 2007 and 2008 designs were awesome, but they didn't make enough of them. And most of the colors they offer in 2009 are dull and unexciting.
If I'm going to spend $20,000 for a motorcycle, I want it in my color, they way I want it. And they failed miserably with the 2009's.
Plus the Harley website for 2009 bikes sucks as well. They feature a Softail Custom from 2007 - the bike is not...
