GRB placed me in a Graduate Scheme over 9 years ago and I would recommend them to anybody looking for their first role. My consultant took the time to help me perfect my CV, giving me tips and advice on interview technique and eventually the good news that I'd been offered the role. Thanks GRB! (read more)

Finding a first job is always daunting. In a tough job market it can be quite demoralising applying for jobs with little or no experience under your belt. Apart from setting yourself realistic goals for your first job, it is very important you get the right help. I was lucky I came across the Graduate Recruitment Bureau. I felt they understood my situation very well and would be in a good position to find me job opportunities that would not focus on my experience, but on my abilities... (read more)

The GRB offered a better service than any other graduate recruitment agency I have come across. They really take into account your qualifications and interests to bring you excellent opportunities. I was surprised to be given my own personal recruitment consultant, who was very friendly, helpful and always kept me in the loop about current available jobs that would interest me. The GRB was definitely the reason why I got a job after graduating, and I would strongly recommend them to anyone... (read more)

Having graduated in 2010, with the credit crunch still biting, I wasn't very optimistic about finding a job. I hadn't had much luck with grad schemes and frankly didn't really fancy them anyway. After taking the summer off I wanted to just find a job that I could get on with. A friend recommended GRB after they found him a graduate job (which he is still doing and enjoying today) so I gave them a call. I was introduced to [name removed], we discussed what I was looking for and he told me... (read more)

The Graduate Recruitment Bureau supported and helped me with finding a job that I really wanted. I signed up for it and soon received a call from one of the consultants to talk about my skills and job opportunities. She wanted to find out what I really wanted to do after graduating. From that point onward I was in contact with my agent on a regular base. I remember receiving a call one day in which my consultant stated that she had found the perfect position for me. A few weeks later I... (read more)

GRB placed me at my very first graduate position. 8 years on my career's gone from strength to strength and it would never have gone the same way without that crucial first job! They are very professional to work with and highly recommended. (read more)

My experiences with the Graduate Recruitment Bureau have been brilliant! They have been very prompt and always kept me up to date with opportunities via email and phone. In fact I was first contacted about an opportunity within 2 days of registering! All the members of the team are very helpful. They always answer any questions I had and made sure that I was prepared for interviews, giving advice and tips to enable myself to do well. Even after the interviews, I was contacted to see how I... Having graduated in 2012 I was fairly upbeat about finding a job. I had some good work experience behind me and volunteered at the Olympics which I thought would look good on my CV. However, having applied for tonnes of jobs, including part time work, I started to realise that finding a job wasn't going to be quite as easy as I had thought. I was told that applying to some recruitment agencies might help out. My advice is to be picky about which agencies you choose! I initially had two... (read more)

I signed up to GRB at the beginning of my first year at the University of Southampton. Four years later with undergraduate and Masters degrees completed, I went out into the most competitive job market in generations. I applied to numerous graduate schemes, with little success. GRB managed to link my skills and qualifications to role in the local area. Sam and the team were excellent in finding me a relevant position. Human Resources is a very specialist field with few vacancies at... (read more)

It's no exaggeration to say Aleks at GRB has played a huge role in working with me to getting the next chapter of my life sorted - he was with me every step of the way and I felt that he really wanted to help me by reviewing my presentations, giving me lots of advice and always being only a phone call away. GRB were different from many other agencies I've come across as they delivered a very personal service. The job they found me was precisely the sort of role I was looking for and I feel... I just don't understand the service. For example, I receive a call or email informing me of a vacancy that I match , get asked to send my CV(so I do) and then never seem to hear back. After building my hopes up it would be nice to know the outcome or receive feedback as to why I have not been selected! This has happened on a number of occasions now and has really shattered my confidence in looking for employment. (read more)

“Having already studied Economics at Exeter for 2 years it was at the start of my third and final year that the realization dawned on me that I should commence looking for post-graduation employment. I had, by my own standards, been fairly slack in looking for work up to that point. However, confident that I was in one of the country’s best universities and wanting to work in the financial sector, I was sure that something would come up before the summer months came around. Nevertheless,... (read more)

I was referred to GRB by a friend just after we had both graduated from Lancaster University with degrees in Computer Science. My friend had already started the interview process and was impressed by the speed in which GRB found him potential employers to interview with, so I decided to give it a go. Shortly after uploading my CV and interests to their site I was contacted by two or three consultants from GRB who had already matched my CV to job profiles all over the country. In addition I... It was a very pleasant surprise to receive a phonecall form the GRB with details of a job opening. This wasn't just any old job either. It was applicable to the course I took, was for an excellent company, had above average pay and some excellent benefits. When I said I was interested in the role they immediately got me an interview with the company. The GRB also phoned me up before hand to give me pointers, and checked my CV was up to scratch. I had a phonecall from the GRB after both... (read more)

Whilst I did feel slightly disheartened not to hear too much from anyone within the first couple of weeks of uploading my CV, once Danielle did get in touch I found her to be very friendly and honest. She was extremely thorough during the whole process; talking about my CV (and ways to improve it) and asking about the kind of jobs, salaries and locations I was interested in working.
Given I came out of university without too much of an idea as to what I wanted to do, it was nice to have someone's help in what is a desperately difficult situation for any graduate. Obviously, the university careers service is also useful but I don't think that they could have told me about a job on a Friday and helped me get a job offer by the following Tuesday! In many ways I was lucky to have secured a job in my first interview but credit also goes to Danielle for helping prepare me for it. I'd definitely recommend GRB to others who find themselves in my situation: coming home from graduation and thinking "what next?".

the GRB was so helpful in helping me find a graduate job. I found that Sarah Keeling was really helpful and it felt as though she was interested in how I was getting on at interviews and gave me plenty of CV and interview tips. They were very good at filtering the jobs they would send you and kept then to the criteria that you had specified. GRB also kept in touch after they had helped me secure a job in the industry I was actually interested in! It felt like they were really interested in... (read more)

Simply put, the Graduate Recruitment Bureau provided an incredible careers service; I’m surprised I didn’t have to pay them. The best thing about the GRB is that they don’t pigeon hole you in to broad categories like other recruitment companies do. Rather than carpet-bombing your inbox, they only send you info about companies offering work that match the specific criteria you’ve told them about. They helped widen my horizons too, a lot of the companies suggested to me were ones I had... (read more)

I found two consultants at GRB excellent - Josh and Owen Gill. They gave me great advice and were really proactive in finding me opportunities for interview. It was a real pleasure talking to them. I would highly recommend all students to sign up with the Graduate Recruitment Bureau. I registered with them after I spoke to a friendly member of their team at my university fresher’s fair and it has been so beneficial. I first registered with Graduate Recruitment Bureau after graduating in 2010. Although I didn’t gain my first graduate job through the site, I would recommend GRB for the continuous support they offer graduates throughout their post-university life. I have known of GRB for a few years and signed up to them, as I have many other agencies, in my second year. I signed up with the agencies in expectancy that I would be contacted much nearer my graduation for job opportunities rather than being pestered during my final two years. As such I was chuffed when the only agency to have actually acknowledged this was GRB. Their team only contacted me when relevant jobs matched what I was looking for during my final year. The GRB provide an excellent service by tailoring the job adverts to your specific needs. Unlike other careers website, the job adverts they send to you are specific to you qualifications and your CV and they are not generic job adverts. The service and level of professionalism I received during my dealings with 'GRB' was below substandard. They do seem to have a reasonable amount of jobs advertised on their website the problems for me started after I had applied. Receiving a call I was invited to an interview at their offices. We are sorry to hear you had this experience at GRB and thank you for bringing this to our attention. Although you posted in Sept 2011 we have only just discovered this website. We take dealings with all applicants with professionalism and integrity at all times so this report has prompted a further investigation into this specific matter. I am particularly surprised you mention it being a "waste of money" when we do not charge for any of our services. I have to add, this is extremely rare in the 15 years I have run this company and take pride on not only the graduates we match up with recruits but the overwhelming positive feedback my team receives. We will take your comments on board and may I wish you well in the future.

I made a full written complaint against the consultant in question at the time as well as speaking directly to yourself Dan. While it is true that you do not charge for your services, other costs were incurred while traveling to your offices for 'interview', costs which as an unemployed graduate were not to be sniffed at. I appreciate your apology but I am afraid to say it has had little effect. I am currently gainfully employed in the same industry as yourselves (an industry your consultant told me I was completely unsuitable for and one that I didn't want to enter into) and it remains the most wholly unprofessional experience of my working life. As this event is so rare I assume that you know precisely who I am and will expect you to be back in contact with me as per the results of your further investigation (you still have my details on your system). Thank you for your well wishes.

They have a great range of graduate jobs, but unfortunately myself and 5 friends found we never heard back from the website about any of the jobs we applied for. Combined this could have been in excess of 40 jobs combined, which is just ridiculous.
We occasionally got phone-calls about other opportunities, but these were never as good as the ones we actually applied to. In all it was a waste of time using the website.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Whilst we are delighted you found the range of graduate jobs great we are disappointed that our service didn’t meet your expectations. As a recruitment service our role is to screen and select suitable candidates that meet our client’s requirements. The numbers involved mean that we are unable to respond to every single unsuccessful candidate personally. Whilst I appreciate this is not ideal we are implementing software that alleviates this problem. In the interim we do make it clear at the bottom of every job advert that if you haven't heard from us in two weeks, then unfortunately your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Please revisit the site as jobs are updated regularly and we have many graduates who have gone on to lead successful careers with our help.
