    My son decided he and his fiancee wanted to get married at the Club Hotel Riu Bachata as they had some lovely holidays there. We were a bit worried how I would cope as I am disabled. Everything was fantastic! The staff were extremely helpful, even repaired a flat tire of my wheeelchair free of charge, the wedding was very relaxed but very pleasant, the staff did their utmost to help with whatever was necessary. My only regret is that my husband & I did not do any excursions as the others had organised, but hopefully we can do that another time. We had brought small presents to give to the cleaning staff (colouring pencils for their children, soap etc) and they were very grateful. The staff try hard to make your stay pleasant, personally the food in the 3 different hotels one can chose from is fine, I loved the fruit!! Remember the D.R. is a very poor country and still quite unspoiled, if you show the staff kindness and chat with them they are prepared to do everything for you. The beach is nice as are the pools. We were also very disappointed with several Canadians who were very noisy and rude!! The rest of both our families and my son & his wife have been back again, and had another lovely time. My husband and I will certaily hope to visit the Bachata soon again as well!

    Hi there, we have just returned from the Club Hotel Riu Bachata and overall we had a great time the hotel is spotless and staff could not be more helpful or pleasant. All the hotel staff from the binmen to the managers always had time to answer any queries we might have. I have to say though that the food left a little to be desired with the menu being mostly the same most nights but if you go dont miss out on the italian and steak restaurants these have to be booked first thing in the morning ...

    I spent two weeks here and thought it was amazing, the people were so friendly and nice and the food was good and the weather was great!

    Nice hotel Riu Barchata clean friendly staff. Bad points, food in hotel, hotel shop expensive, phone calls back to U.K, beach stony not good for paddling. Had a good holiday but will not return
